Hi, it’s been almost a year since I lost my husband and I am still very depressed. I am not seeing our old friends any more and keep isolating myself. But I have no will to see these people as it reminds me of happier times. Should I be feeling guilty for this?

Hi, certainly you shouldn’t feel guilty, although some may take it as sign of impolite behavior but most people will understand your reasons for avoiding their company. Every situation for you can be reminding sign of how you used to entertain with friends in your free time. Try to go to new places and meet new friends, as it can be source of positive energy for you. It will not be reminding and can keep you away from your bad thoughts and memories. Avoid family members that keep reminding you of your husband, joining a sport club or practicing some hobby would be a good option.
