I'm a 20 year old female.

As of 2 days ago, my throat has been swollen to the point of almost shut and i can't have any solid foods or pills because of the swelling. I'm very light headed and nauseous when I walk or even stand up. My lymph nodes are swollen and beyond tender and I can't move my neck at all. I've slept 18 hours in one day. I went to the dr and of course I get "its just a cold." i've had plenty of colds and none are as severe as this. Any helpful ideas?

Do you have fever? For the past year or so I have problems with my throat and I went through every possible option except tonsillectomy but I don’t think that cold can cause such strong reaction unless your tonsils are extra sensitive or something. All you can do for now is to take enough fluids and maybe something for the pain if you manage to swallow it, but if it doesn’t start to get better soon as a cold normally would, you will have to see doctor again because it’s possible that all of this is caused by infection so you would need antibiotics to cure it.
