hi, just wondered if anyone else who has had this done was still bleeding almost 2 weeks on?? im fine if laying down or slouching on the sofa, but as soon as i sit upright for too long or walk about i get quite a bit of bright red blood loss. many thanks for any advice x
A brief scan of the web for this specific op does not suggest that your bleeding is normal or reasonable, nor would I otherwise have thought it normal or reasonable. If you are referring to vaginal, period, bleeding, as in a disruption to your normal cycle, then the following does not apply, but you may wish to consult a doctor or clinic: it does sound excessive.
If you are referring to wound (surgical) bleeding, then:
I would recommend at the very least a visit to your doctor, if that is possible. I am even reluctant to recommend you call the surgery that performed the operation, but perhaps it would be appropriate to discuss it with another surgery, to get an informed opinion.
If labioplasty is a surgical operation, then bleeding is a wound, not a period, and blood clotting for minor wounds, and sutures (stitches) for major wounds (or surgery) are both intended to prevent bleeding.
Nor can I imagine how a reputable clinic can have performed an operation and given you the understanding that wound (non-period) bleeding is a perfectly normal reaction. If I (or most other people) I would imagine saw patients leaving hospitals dripping blood, I think there would be alarm, and concern. Why would your surgical operation be different?
As noted, if the bleeding is period bleeding, then the above does not apply of course.
