Bought a pair of tennis shoes with memory foam insoles...never wore them until I went on a trip to vegas...within a few minutes of wearing them became dizzy, couldn't focus my eyes and felt like I was going to fall over or walking on a slant....never related to the shoes...went to the hospital where they suspected vertigo but checked for a stroke....admitted me after doing some tests...after removing my shoes I began to feel better....spent the night there but was released after all tests...mri, cat scan and blood work was normal...put shoes on and within fifteen minutes the symptoms started again....removed the shoes and 5 minutes later was fine....threw out a brand new pair of shoes, bought ones without memory foam and have been fine ever since..amazing how many shoes use them...hard to find tennis shoes without them..

Same here! Just got relaxed fit Sketchers with memory foam cushion.
Wore them a few times in the house was very comfortable. I thought I had found the perfect shoe.
When I walked outside in them the burning started and has continued for 12 hours now even with shoes off.
I also think this shoe allows the foot to slide around when walking.
This is miserable!

I googled Skechers itching redness on feet and found this - having exact same problems! I thought I had been bitten by ants or spiders, but the redness is in same spot on both feet - my left foot even had water blisters. I am taking my shoes back!!!

Today, HSN was advertising the antimicrobial treatment in the sketchers shoes. I own so many pairs, but I would never use antimicrobial cleansers! I may toss all of my summer shoes.

It was hard to believe that my skechers shoes with memory foam are going to be the cause of my sickness, so I've been testing it for weeks. In about half an hour wearing them fatigue, dizziness, heavy focusing with my eyes occur. After effects for that day i wore them are tingling, redness on my legs and still fatigue.

Both of my feet are losing sensitivity. I don't have diabetes, but they feel numb (not tingly or burning), sometimes up to my ankles after a long day on my feet (in memory foam!). At the beginning, I used to fall a lot since I could not detect differences in terrain changes. Thank God, I don't have osteoporosis. When I can't feel my toes so well, I forget to pick them up as I walk in response to terrain. Now I am conscious of starting my steps on my heels, picking up my toes so that they don't drag and catch on surfaces. I have't fallen in quite a while as the change in my stride is becoming second nature. I have been wearing Sketchers, and shoes like them, with memory foam soles for about 5 years and felt that memory foam was the most comfortable shoe on earth. I have been using memory foam pillows for about the same same amount of time, but I wake up groggy and unbalanced when usually I would spring out of bed in the morning. Pilates helped with the balance and general 'centering' issues. I underwent venous (Dopler) neurological tests, and we discovered that the problem in my feet is neurological (affecting my peripheral sensory nerves) with no cure. When things have "no cure", there has to be another cause that is not obvious. I'm ditching all my shoes/slippers with memory foam as well as my pillow. We'll see what shakes from that. I recently had tried a very densely shredded memory foam pillow of my daughter's, and I had full nights of uninterrupted sleep (I use a FitBit to gauge that). Before I ran and bought one (I had been using a MyPillow--Ha! polyurethane again, but not as densely compact), I thought I would research polyurethane. I had never read the labels of contents, and I was shocked at the material used. I'm not skin-allergic as some have reported, but I wonder if five years of using polyurethane has been affecting me neurologically. It may take a while to get the chemicals out of my system, but I'll let you know if there are positive changes.

search for organic hemp insole footbed - unless allergic to hemp? get the unbleached. i think they run about 17 a pair. feet can absorb stuff and it gets into bloodstream very fast. i put essential oils on my feet that help with headaches, nerves, etc. 10-15 minutes. so, imagine what that concoction of who the heck knows is leaching into your blood. Take care of your liver.

Just got mine so disippointed to hear this. They are so comfortable. I have nauropathy. And am wondering if this caused it. I have a pair of thongs that I have had for years from Skechers There has got to be something they can do to improve it. May some non poris material over it. Could this have caused the nauropathy?

I love my new skechers memory foam, but my feet are cracking very badly. I will return them. I will also look into this, because memory foam is in the bed. BAD BAD BAD

I have been crippled by a heavy duty $300 pair of winter boots made by a company called Royal Canadian, I live in Montreal so winter boots are crucial survival gear here. The memory foam insoles have ruined my right foot from the feet to the hip joint- I can hardly walk. This is my first pair of memory foam insoles and it's a nightmare! I have never experienced any feet/foot/leg problems in my life. The pain became evidently connected to the boots after a few weeks, especially after I had worn them for a long walk, I am certain the pain comes from the boots because the pain started after I had begun to wear them regularly. For anyone who is planning to buy fancy memory form insole shoes beware!!! If you have curbed feet you will need a much more supportive and firm insoles!

I have had the same problem with Sketchers. the dermatologist said it was one thing and then another! One minute it was a fungus and the next eczema, but the only time I feel all this burning is a second after I put my shoes on! Doesn't sound like eczema to me because that does not go away once the shoes are off. Doctors are so brilliant about this!!!!

The dermatologist gave me the same answers. My question is: Where does on buy shoes that are free of all these chemicals? I bought a pair of Skechers too and within 2 weeks my feet were burning profusely and then my hands were burning and i couldn’t walk for 6 months. The burning, itching, stinging has subsided a bit after 2 years, and I am now being treated with holistic medicine. I believe it was the foam in the shoes. A lot of other bad physical ailments took place, too much to go into but foam is bad!!!!!
