Then on December 29 of 2015 I fell and my knee dislocated (because the swelling had hidden the fact that my knee cap was on the side thus negating my use of my quadriceps to hold the knee in place). The doctor went in despite it being less than a year from the infection which he said was taking a chance of getting another infection. Since the dislocation I have had to walk with a cane and have had considerable pain in the knee joint.
Today I had X-rays and the doctor explained how the replacement has shifted and I am going to have to have a THIRD replacement.
Anybody who has had three replacements of the same knee want to give me any ideas of what the likelihood of everything turning out okay and me being able to throw away my canes etc?

My story began last year when I was in enormous knee pain. I was advised by 3 doctors to do the knee replacement, but I wanted to find an alternative. For God's sake, we are planning colonization on Mars but medicine still has nothing to offer aside from cutting my knee off?
So, I decided to find a way to avoid the surgery. My condition was qualified as degenerative arthritis. So I ran into the same forum (unfortunately I lost the link) where people were in the same situation as I was. One of the member told about the corticosteroids and hyaluronic acid injections into the joint. In addition to the knee brace and physical therapy it significantly reduced his knee pain and improved his life.
So, I asked him about the clinic where he was treated. He pointed out ARO or Advanced Regenerative Orthopedics. I had my MRI and X-ray and I send it to them by email. The review is free of charge, which was a pleasant surprise.
They reviewed it and told me that they are willing to try to save my knee without a surgery. Of course I agreed to try.
Currently, I'm having corticosteroids and hyaluronic acid shots, wear special shoes, and take Aleve. It wasn't an instant pain relief, I have to tell you. But after a couple of months of treatment I feel better. My level of pain has greatly decreased and I hope for the best in future. Now I'm 65 and I want to LIVE a life, not struggling to live.
For everyone who is planning on doing a surgery I ask you to consider all options before it. You can send your MRI or X-ray to ARO and ask for their review.
