I have always suffered with back period pain, and painful periods for first few days, always accompanied by diarrhoea and had a regular cycle until the last 18 months where I either didn't have period for a few months or I had prolonged, heavy period.
I have had lower back period pain every day now for 3 months. I have an appointment at Gynae mid December. I had 4 bleeds in 6 weeks and then the pain started, I went to Doc after 3 weeks and he put me on cocodomol, several visits and out of hours clinic visits later and I am now on 30/500 Cocodomol, 2 every four hours, 3 x 50mg Tramadol daily, Busocpan 2 every four hours and Doclofenac suppositories 100mg once a day. I have worked out all the times so I am taking everything regularly, even throughout the night, and, I am STILL in pain, mild if I rest, strong if I am on my feet too long. I did miss a couple of doses of meds in the night when my alarm didn't go off and boy did I know it for a couple of days. Surely, with all this medication I shouldn't be experiencing any pain, or be totally monged out ? I have also had amitriptylene but that was replaced with Tramadol.
I have had an abdominal scan and TransVaginal Scan, a cyst on each ovary and a small fibroid were found but "not significant to symptoms". It's in my head that it is Endometriosis, my mother had it and I read you are more likley to if a mother or sister has/had it.
I also experience cramps, burning sensation in area of ovaries, either one at a time or both at a time, also a feeling of fullness (like a full bladder) but under my ribs, this comes and goes, and a stitch like feeling accompanied by a bruised feeling to the right of my ribs and round to my back. My upper and lower abdomen gurgle and bubble, a lot, especially after eating. There are other niggly things but I feel like a hyperchondriac!!
I also suffer with IBS, and asthma and have read that these can be linked with endo.
Am I doing my own head in or does this sound like Endo to anyone? Could it be to do with my bowel? All I know is I am fed up with the pain, I have two jobs and now cannot work. Any comments would be gladly appreciated. Sorry to ramble :(

Read the book What your doctor doesnt tell you about menopause. It helped me out a lot. you could be going through perimenopause. I am 46 but started with similar symptoms 2 years ago. I now use progesterone cream and has helped a lot. I went to an obgyn that balances hormones!
