I am concerned about nerve damage. I realize it has only been three weeks since the surgery, but I was not expecting such large amounts of numbness. My cheeks, ears, neck and behind the ears are all numb. (Not a little numb, but cotton ball, no sensation at all numb.) More disturbing is that none of the sensation has come back yet. I would not be worried if I thought I was regaining my feeling even a little at a time. I can wait months if I know improvement is happening, but as of now, nothing has changed. If anyone has advice on when it is time to start lymphatic massage, or get the MRI please fill me in. I don't want to wait a year to be told it is too late to do anything and now the damage is permanent.

Hello, rosa.
If you are experiencing any symptoms or signs of nerve damage, such as numbness, tingling, or pain in the face or neck, it is important to get an MRI as soon as possible to rule out any underlying medical condition.
Your doctor may also recommend an MRI if there is reason to believe that the nerve damage may be related to the facelift procedure, such as if you have had a recent complication or if the area has not healed properly.
I now see that you posted this a month ago, so have you contacted your doctor in the meantime?
