Hi,

Basically i found a lump in my scrotum a few days ago and have been kinda worrying. Websites about Testicular Cancer have not been very helpful to my apparent situation, they do not state whether a cancerous lump is attached to or apart of the testicle. My lump appears to be attached amongst the epidermis tubing kinda. It is less than pea sized and you cannot feel in between the lump and the testicle as they seem to be too close etc however not apart of the testicle itself as it can be moved abit, however is clearly joined as movement is not completely free. It is not painful unless you squeeze it, and then it aches for a few minutes afterwards. .
I have not found any other posts with the exact same thing, i have read many forums of people saying they've had things for years and sites aren't very helpful etc.
I get the idea that generally if it is cancerous it is a lump ON the testicle itself, not attached to it, and there is also swelling and things, however i understand there are so many different situations i don't really know what to think. I am not worried enough and not confidant enough to go to the doctors as of yet as its only been a few days but just wondering if anyone has any ideas for me?

Thanks for your time.

I think this Guest is on the right track, except you can't be diagnoised over the internet. You'll have to see a doctor, probably a urologist, to get the ultrasound done. A physical exam, including palpation, touching, probing, feeling, is going to be required first.

I disagree with the last statement. "Guest" can only say that HIS situtation became more painful over time. Your condition may or may not do the same.

But I would get checked out by a doctor.

I've had the exact same problem. Swelling, and soreness in my epidermis. This has been going on for about a year. I had an ultrasound which revealed a tiny 2mm size cyst. When pressed this becomes very very painful.
When I exercise the whole area becomes painful. I have been given two courses of antibiotics, neither of which have worked. The doctor now tells me that there is nothing that can be done and that I will just have to put up with the pain as the only other option is surgery - which could cause complications and is therefore not advisable.
But oddly, he said that it is very uncommon to have a tiny cyst on the epidermis cause pain.
Has anyone else had this problem? I'd obviously rather not be left with pain and soreness for the rest of my life! It's quite a sensitive area!

i've also found a lump near my left epidermis around 2 years ago, went to the doc who said it was just a small cyst, so i left it at that.
Over the last couple of weeks I've had a dull kind of ache in the same testicle,so i checked the lump which is the same size as before,so I went back to the doc who checked again and gave me the same answer.
I'm a little bit worried that I haven't been sent for an ultrasound, just to check it's nothing more sinister, should I go back and push the doc for a scan?

My brother had something kinda similar, and he assumed the worst and went to the hospital. After having the ER doc examine it and a few tests run, they said that it was a cyst and that they go away on their own. I wouldn't worry, but do keep an eye on it, and if it changes or doesn't go away within a few weeks go to the Dr.

I thought I'd found a lump in my right testicle but after an ultrasound scan it turned out to be nothing more than a build up of semen in the epidermis. The examiner informed me that semen can randomly come from either the right or left testicle and therefore one epidermis can feel bigger than the other. He advised me to examine myself pre & post ejaculation to see how the size changes.

First of all I would like to say that this has addressed my fear and will hopefully make me sleep better, I thought at first my lump was on my testicle but then I felt again and found it on the epidermis to testicle type area like the first post states, I have got a doctors appointment so fingers crossed, however thanks to the person who put this up as this has helped (for the moment at least) put my mind a little bit more at ease than before, however I am going to get it checked out regardless.

On that note I would like to say that the positive comments about getting checked out are very sensible and grown up and that anyone who reads this if you have any, and I mean ANY concerns whatsoever about a lump, etc on their testicles should have it checked as soon as possible, DON'T be a man and ignore it as you run a chance of not being so lucky as some people and once the cancer has spread their is very little that can be done if multiple tumours appear in the body and under those circumstance, I saddens me to say you are a gona.

Moral of story: Get anything suspicious or unusual checked as soon as possible

Have the same pea lump near epidermis. Was told they called it a pearl a calcium deposit inside the cord. Took anti biotics after they made everything swell from exam. Now epidermis at bottom still swollen I think this calcium has to come out so it will allow the free flow of fluid. You have only other people to help you , unless you happen to find the one in a thousand doctor that has some smarts. Else you could die from gangerine.waiting on the right plummer, hope you understan this

Just adding in here. Most doctors are useless. I've seen 4 about the same issue and all of them just write me off saying it's nothing. They prod awkwardly at your junk for a bit, not checking where you told them too because they're so uncomfortable with their sexuallity that it obviously makes it difficult to do their damn jobs right. As a straight guy this was the first time a man, let alone 3, had ever touched my bits; I wasn't exactly loving it up myself either. The fourth was a female doctor who told me that if the other 3 had decided it was nothing then she didn't even need to check. I've had this damn thing for almost 2 years and get waves of discomfort frequently. I've actually requested that I be referred to a eurologist and was flat out denied, believe it or not. This was based on absolutely no previous history of missing appointments or anything else for that matter. Health care professionals... ha! Useless bunch of tits I say. I've learned to deal with it but at the same time I wish someone had at least offered me antibiotics or something that could possibly be a solution other than being told to ignore it by 4 different people who aren't even specialists.
