I have had testicular discomfort for 2-3 years and done this:
- 3 ultra sounds showing no cancer/tumor only a small cyst on 1 occasion
- been on several antibiotics to remove the inflammation (ciproxin i think was one of them)
- had multiple urine/blood tests for sti's found nothing
The urologist I was referred to essentially useless. Pretty much said in short he doesn't know whats wrong and my 2 options are to put up with it or to operate however if I operate since they don't know what is wrong if they operate there is the posibility that it may cause more complications.
This is incredibly frustrating as this is there profession! They get paid a fortunate and just put my problem in the "too hard basket".
I'm going too try antibiotics again soon as the swelling is up and down and sometimes unbearable. I'm sure every with this problem hates this and wishes it will go away please share your success stories!

Im fourteen, just found a small lump on my testicle. It isnt visable and doesnt hurt as i have only just found it. I dont know the exact names but its kinda on the end of my testicle, could it be cancer?

No, if you have no pain, it's not cancer.
If you're worried, go to any clinic and ask for a routine Male UG exam.
Tell them specifically what you've found and what you want checked.
They will put your mind to rest. Don't worry, and to listen to the other
A**holes who just say "Yes" with no explanation. They're pranking you.

I have a cyst on the epidermis which started small and is now size of almost a golf ball and is quite sore.I have waited 3 years to be looked at by a public hospital which was last monday and now waiting within 3 months to have operation and will not be able to have any children the epidermis is coming out also the cyst so the cyst won't reacure again.hope this helps you in what you decide to do.

3 years for a "public" hospital? What country do you live in? Is it Canada by chance? I know the US health system is way overpriced and there are plenty of two-bit doctors around that make way too much money here, but my god, if you actually had any form of malign cancer you'd probably be dead by now just by being forced to wait. If I went to an ER (even if I couldn't afford to pay), I might have to wait several hours (which sucks when you do have a real emergency and freeloaders are waiting to get a 'cough' checked out), but not three freaking years. I just found a lump floating attached just above my right testicle (swollen or lump at the epididymis from what I can tell) about the size of good sized navy bean (slightly larger than a pea; maybe 3 peas in size) that is slightly tender to pressure and I've been debating whether to see a doctor TOMORROW on my day off given everything I've read online about common cysts, etc. in that area with most cancer being on the testicle itself. But surely one would think that a cyst or other structure that is getting larger (let alone to the size of a golf ball) would merit more consideration. I like Canada (visit there a lot) and the idea of basic needs socialistic programs doesn't bother me, but I start to think twice when I read of waiting times like that. Of course, if you can't afford to pay in the US they generally won't do non-life threatening surgeries period so there's an obvious trade-off, but that doesn't account for three year waiting periods just to get diagnosed (let alone treated). Frankly, that terrifies me.
I have to agree with others that general practitioners are often less than helpful for diagnoses of things other than the most common infections, etc. and so it would be that much worse if you got a bad one who sent you in the wrong direction, let alone a bad specialist (e.g. I had a pain around my left eye for two years of sheer hurts-to-blink hell that could have been avoided if the sinus specialist knew what he was doing; he said it wasn't a sinus issue (CT scan showed no infection, but it DID show the actual problem of fluid getting pushed around my eye into my cheek area but he dismissed it as not unusual and told me to see an eye doctor) which lead me on a wild goose chase; 6 different eye specialists and 4 regular doctors including one attempts to "burn" out a white eyelash that wasn't causing any trouble (so it turns out) plus another ear, nose throat doctor (who also dismissed it after a second CT scan showed a negative on infection). FINALLY, at near suicidal conditions, I saw a doctor who specialized in allergies (to humor my mother, really who kept insisting I keep seeing more doctors despite them all being useless and collecting a lot of money for doing nothing helpful) and he actually listened to what I had to say (I came back after hours to talk some more even) and without any allergy testing, he told me I had a sinus problem and that some of these specialists can't diagnose anything if it doesn't fit their usual list of symptoms and CT scan results. He was 100% correct. He showed me how to "snort" while blocking one side of my nose to force the heavier fluid out (immediate squirting of 2 years of pent up liquid back into my nose and a drop in pressure) and less than one week of prescription strength decongestant and the pain was GONE completely (85% gone in 3 days). I still have to take decongestants any time I feel any increase in pressure or pinching of the Eustachian tubes (easy to recognize now), but thank GOD not EVERY doctor is an overpaid id**t. I even went back to the original doctor that lead me off track and he said if he can't see it on a CT scan, he can't do anything about it. UNBELIEVABLE.
I realize that has little to do with testicular lumps, but people should realize that doctors are still human beings and can make mistakes. Being able to pass school exams or correct a deviated septum doesn't mean the doctor is a creative thinker, let alone Sherlock Holmes, although I've met PLENTY of doctors that THINK they are God and make snap (often wrong) diagnoses to keep you moving through the system and get upset when you question their prescriptions, etc. even though it's your body and your potential side effects (i.e. kickbacks on newer products that make the pharmaceuticals more money due to patent law with more potential side effects than tried/true stuff puts everyone in jeopardy).
In any case, good luck with your surgery. I wish you a speedy recovery. It sounds like you more than deserve it.
