Hi, guys. My friend has been diagnosed with lymphoma. I know that this disease is considered to be some form of cancer. I would like to know if it can be managed with corticosteroid treatment. I am not sure I am familiar with all the facts, so all your replies will be more than welcomed.

Hello. Lymphoma is indeed a cancer of lymphocytes and lymphatic tissue. It usually starts with lymphocytes in lymph nodes. It is very aggressive and the prognosis is serious. There are many forms of lymphoma and each form has a specific treatment regime. I cannot give you a simple answer to your question. Corticosteroids can be used in treating lymphoma. However, steroids alone cannot help much. They are usually combined with other cytotoxic drugs. I hope this helps.
