I am currently being prescribed macrobid for an urinary traqct infection that is concurrent with a kidney infection and an ulcer.What are my alternatives to the macrobid since my renal function is quite impaired at this time? It is very difficult for me to take the macrobid due to intense stomach pain that occurrs when I ingest it orally. Some insight would be greatly appreciated on this matter. I was taking macrobid early in the morning before I went to work and before I’ve eaten anything. This made me nauseous and I experienced incredible abdominal cramps. I went back to my urologist and he told me that I needed to take it with food, or at least with milk after breakfast.
I was drinking cranberry juice as well, although my doc didn’t recommended. It is just something I read in a magazine.
