I have smoked quite heavily for a few years now. Over the last three years I have had to quit smoking around 4 times. I have never experienced anxiety or insomnia. The only thing I have ever experienced was a little appetite loss for a couple of days. I am not quitting any time soon because it acually helps treat my migraines and it helps me fall asleep (I have had trouble sleeping well before I ever tried cannabis). Some people might experience some problems that will go away shortly. I have never felt the need to smoke when I know I need to quit temporarily. I haven't experienced any anger after quitting and if any of you do, that is something that lies in your hands. I don't know about the rest of you but I know for sure that I control my anger before I ever smoked weed and after I started smoking. While reading some of the posts on here and saw someone say that they have been stoned through two pregnancies and couldn't quit. To you I say you are a m***n. I know plenty of people who have been addicted to cigarettes (Cigarettes are way more addictive than marijuana) and when they find out they are pregnant they quit smoking! If you actually want to quit, it really isn't that hard. If you say otherwise it is because you don't really want to quit it is just something you say you want.

I'm so sick and tired of these guys coming here to a place where people ARE coming to get support because IT IS addictive and tell people they're stupid.  Go somwhere else. This place is for people that DO experience withdrawals.

I am the exact same, i have been smoking heavily for a few years, and everytime I go to quit, i get all the exact same symptoms. My advice is to taper yourself off, and drink LOTS of water, this will help. When I taper myself, I get to a point where some of my 'bowls' are literally less than a .1g. Tapering in this way keeps the anxiety at bay, and you will be WAY more successful. I also suggest staying away from people who make you think about it or smoke as well, until you have been weed free for a good week, after that you will have a lot more energy and feel a lot better :)

Ok I been smoking weed hard for the last 7-5 years its hard to remember I been in detox 4 times only to fall back time and time again ive just quit 4 days ago going cold turkey cause I had enough im on the dole and only get 200 bux a week problem for me was getting credit til payday then having no money left my problem with quitting is that I used to smoke it mixed with tobacco so im doubling my cold turkey its hard I cant eat everytime I try I dry reach its not fun when it gets out of hand, my aunty is my dealer and everyone in my family smokes it so I know how hard it is all you can do is keep trying the more times you quit the easier it gets. One of the other main problems is the boredom when your off because weed takes away boredom dont fill that boredom with tv or internet thats even worse, I dont know what I can or gonna do but I will figure it out and you will to just find something that you cam enjoy without using best of luck

You're an id**t if you think there's no physical side effects to quitting smoking weed. I agree, in a LIGHT/MODERATE smoker, there may be no symptoms. I was a chronic smoker for 15 years. THERE IS 100% side effects to quitting.

I know for a FACT that you will get hot sweats in your sleep for up to 10 days after quitting. 2 years ago I went to Rome, Italy. No pot for 2 weeks.... I would awake in the middle of the night up to 4 times for a week straight SOAKED in sweat like I had taken a shower and gotten back into bed. 1 year ago I went to Ponte Delgada, Portugal. No pot for 2 weeks. Exact same thing happened. Soaked in sweat for 6 nights. Finally, I quit smoking weed about a month ago. Guess what happened?????? Night sweats for 7 sleeps.

You think this is a random occurrence? I will challenge any doctor or study that says there's no symptoms.

Sorry YOU are wrong my friend. You must have been smoking hay. Try smoking a 1/4 of kush every 2 days for 15 years and quit cold turkey. You will go through upset stomach, loss of appetite, excessive fatigue, and night sweats.

Some of the symptoms listed throughout this post are a major exaggeration. BUT I know for a fact the ones that I have mentioned above are REAL symptoms. Not psychological. I went through them all for about a week after quitting. I agree it's heroin (crack has very little withdraws symptoms to occasional users).

GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT AND STOP CONFUSING PEOPLE WITH THE WRONG INFO. UNLESS YOU'VE GONE THROUGH IT YOURSELF.

I hate these hay smokers who think they know what it's like for a real chronic smoker to quit.

I've been smoking on and off for about 8 years now, I find it impossible to sleep without lighting up before bed this in turn makes me have mood swings through lack of sleep, I've seen one guy saying 'try having a drink like a glass of wine to take the edge off' this is a pretty stupid idea I don't want to switch from smoking weed to sleep to having a drink before sleep!

To get rid of Marijuana is a difficult path! But it's not impossible!. To overcome addiction, firstly you need to be self-determined towards getting rid of addiction. Now you just “Stick on your Determination”, and remove all the contents of Marijuana from your house So that you don’t get fragmented again to its smell. Develop positive thinking power helping you to start new life. Change your life-style and get support of family and good friends. Stay away from addicted environment.Hope you get to overcome Marijuana fast and start living happily.

Your an ideot . Hunny its just you. Everyone has dofferent effects. I agree with the person who said quitting ciggarettes is easier. I quit.smoking cold.turkey not a.single craving or bad feeling. Quit.weed after 15 years and i feel like death. Opinions are great and differ person to person. So take your head out.of your ass and dont make someone feel like its."just him" you inconsiderate dummy

Are you mental? People are on here posting about the symptoms THEY are experiencing. Are you saying that we should all just get over it, look up research, and say that's the answer because our feelings and thoughts are invalid? Do you know how they get the research buddy? They get it from people who talk about this sh*t and are HONEST and OPEN with what they are TRULY experiencing. If we all hid and continued to follow the "norm" of accepting weed as a non addictive drug, then you are all obviously in need of a wake up call. Quit being in the current, stand back and ask yourself, am i actually being affected? God I'm tired of you childish kids who continue to get on these sites to justify your reasons of continuing your f*****g habit.

Hi, I have been a heavy smoker since 15, I am now 30 and in the quitting process. The sooner you quit, the better. It´s easier to quit younger as a student then as a full adult working. I could be writing long paragraphs sharing my experience, in order to give you the best answers. But i believe that better then one guy (me) sharing experiences is to read what health professionals have written based on more than 400 heavy smokers have said.
I´m sure you can do it!
