Hello,

there is really no exact cause for mast cell activation - every person has his or her specific trigger that can vary from exposure to heat/ cold, stress to infections or even eating certain foods. Mast Cell Activation Syndrome usually appears as rash, but unlike your common rash - this one is colored or has raised bumps. In some cases this syndrome can appear from the birth - when it's extremely dangerous, or at a later age - as a colored and/ or raised patch of skin.

There is, however, no cure for Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, only the ways to manage the symptoms.
