Maybe it is due to a high fat content in your diet. I can't say as I don't know what you eat.
I say go to your Dr and get a stool test done, are you have any other symptoms? Constipation, diarrhea? Abdominal pain, blood in your stool? Irregular bowel movements?

Can you tell me more about your diet? What do you eat every day and have you made any changes in pasted period. Do you like to eat nettle or spinach? These vegetables contain a lot of iron in them so when people eat them often or just started to eat them, notice foul and strange metallic smell when they have their bowel movements.
I think that this is nothing to be worried about and that this condition will pass in several days. You will have to watch your diet in the future. Try to avoid foods that are high in iron and if in any case you take iron supplement stop for several days or try to lower your dose.

I have metallic smells coming from front and back. Was told 2 yrs. ago I had blood in urine, but can't see any by sight. about that time my medical plan changed and the plan now has taken lots of blood work but, says it did'nt show any blood in my test but the smell continues, so what should I do?

From the research I've done, mine is caused by the vitamins/supplements I take daily. If you take vitamins/supplements maybe that could be why too

I was scared very much at some of the answers to the metal smelling stool questions, however your answer calmed me down. I eat approximately 1 can every other day! Thought fish was good for ya but with me eating wild salmon twice a week and tuna 4 x a week I am sure that is the issue! I hope it doesn't take long to detox it from my body. Already have enough health issues without causing myself more. If there is any other thing you can say to calmed me down to avoid stress that I definitely don't need.Thank you much!
