Thank you for writing this post, I just came back from the emergency room yesterday for this same issue Monday my husband and I had sex and I have been in pain ever since feels like some one carved my uterus with a knife around my navel area, and have also developed this crazy acid reflux which has prevented me from sleeping well.I asked the doctors to remove the iud if it's causing the problem, they took ,blood,a urine sample, no uti food, she claimed she couldn't find the strings, when I got home I looked for it myself and guess what? found em! I came to the conclusion my insurance wasn't enough for them to make the effort, or to be bothered, no ultrasound done, to add insult to injury they gave me a preventative shot of antibiotics that hurt like Hellllllll! For the clap that I know I don't have!!!!!!@

Was he cut? I lacerated the head of my penis on a mirena IUD and she had a vagina full of bright red blood.

My IUD was extremely painful to put in. It was painful during sex for my partner, it poked his penis till he had red dots on him. Then it started to hurt me during sex having cramps up to one day after for 3 weeks. It just kept hurting and hurting, i then got acid reflux i couldn't get out of bed. 2 doctors said it was all in my head and i was having a period and it was a urine infection THEY DEFENDED IUD AS NOT BEING THE CAUSE OF ANY OF MY PAIN. The last doctor took it out of me i begged her and straight away no more pain. Why are doctors recommending this product when it is doing more damage then it should!!!!

I had extreme pain that left me bawling. Again, from behind, yes's he's kind of big. I am using Skyla. The rest of my day is shot, I'm exhausted and don't want to do anything. I really hope it's not the end of our sex life. He is pretty traumatized too.
Has anyone else experienced this?? Better yet, did anyone find positive resolution to this issue?
The IUD companies are full of it, the advertising for IUDs would appear to be a blatant series of lies.

I don't think it matters about vaginal births or not
I had the bleeding as well, and now every time I have sex the pain gets worse and worse
I was concerned about it tearing the wall as well
This is my second time using the IUD and I didn't have any issues with the first one

Yes I do as a matter a fact and it's so uncomfortable and I worry if that is uncomfortable for her as well I don't want her to be in pain while she's supposed to be enjoying the moment. And it takes me out my game cause I don't want her in pain during or afterwards.

This helped greatly!
I've been feeling the same pain with my boyfriend of 4 years and it's not fun. I've never felt the odd pain until my IUD. Everything was fine and just the last few weeks it's been painful, and it sucks for the both of us.
I've had mine for about 8 months.
I'm making an apt asap to talk with a gyno and see what they have to say.

I also have noticed some pinkish spotting after sex. Doesn't happen all the time, but a few times and I alsways thought it was just spotting cuz it was suppose to be my time of the month. But it happened more irregularly. I'll ask about that too.

Really was liking the IUD until the pain started. Cramps I could do, but this pain is so weird and unnerving.

My strings are not to short, they are long enough to curl up and around the cervix so no pointy bits to hurt my husband, but sex is still painful for me and uncomfortable for him. Kinda like if he knocks the top, it pushes the IUD a little bit and it causes a dull ache almost every time we have sex and some times it hurts so much I can't let him go in too deep. I definitely can't thrust back towards him, as it hurts more. So I rarely if ever get enjoyment from it. I got it taken out yesterday (as we would like to have another child) and when we had sex this morning, no pain, no discomfort, I definitely think the IUD was the cause. Seems a lot of doctors or people who have not felt the discomfort think just because it's not a problem for them, it is not a problem for anyone else. I have to disagree, I'm glad some people get no pain, but that dose not mean my experience doesn't exist.

i've found that having him feel the strings is helpful because he lets me know where it is, it has never bothered him though, just minorly distracted. On the other hand i have had some sever cramping this week worse than ever! along with tiredness, moodswings, loss of focus and painful sex. Which since i started doing my reaserch i have found are all symptoms of the iud. NOT all of wich are listed by doctors
