I had a Miss-Carriage September 2010, I still have pains in the same place which is under my hip line on the right side.
Almost everyday I go through this pain that stops me in my tracks every time without my period, sometimes it is very excruciating like someone is squeezing my organ but other times it is like a sharp pain (stabbing).
It took the doctors 15, 1/2 hours before they ''scrapped'' me (my operation to get rid of the placenta I didn't pass during the night).
I have had pains since then and also got woken up every morning for about a month with excruciating pain behind my breasts but that was right after the Miss- Carriage. ?
I have heard of such thing called a Ectopic Pregnancy that I saw online but some how my doctor can't tell me what's wrong?

The scraping was a D&C or dilation and curettage. It's sometimes necessary if all tissue isn't removed after an abortion or miscarriage. Usually there is a follow up visit about 2 weeks later. Did you have one? Or one since? Any remaining tissue could become infected.
Ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy outside of the uterus. It is non-survivable for the fetus and can be very dangerous for the mother. Usually they occur in the fallopian tubes, probably just about at your hip line. It is possible that there was some damage to the uterus during the d&c.
Check with your ob/gyn.
