A Filipino mother, who found out she had cancer after becoming pregnant sacrificed her life for her unborn baby by refusing an abortion and chemotherapy.

The 37-year-old Bernadette Mimura lived in the northeast England, with her British partner, Adam Taylor, survived long enough to see the birth of their son, Nathan.

She was already a mother of three children. Bernadette had an option. The doctors advised her to terminate the pregnancy and receive the treatment. Being a catholic, an abortion was not an option for her and she decided to go through with the pregnancy.

Bernadette decided that her baby’s life was more important and she lived long enough to attend his baptism. Soon after, she was transferred to a hospice where she died about a week later.
