Have ay of you seen an eye Dr- ophthalmologist to have they eyes checked while dilated? It seems everyone is focused on GI and not the nausea. My son is 12 and had some headaches, sensitivity to light and vomiting on and off for a period of two months - which was misdiagnosed as sinus infections, strep infections...you name it. I thought maybe migraines...so made an eye dr appointment since it was time for our annual anyway. But on dilation she noticed swelling on both his optic nerves..this lead to an ophthalmologist and then our Ped ordering an MRI. Thank goodness we moved fast after the swelling on optic nerves was discovered. I'm not trying to frighten anyone but it's worth a look at a good eye Dr or ophthalmologist with eye dilation. ASAP.

My son has been feeling nauseous every morning for the last 15 days, he's had bloods taken, urine samples and his eyes checked etc and they can't find anything, we thought it was a tummy bug at first but it's carrying on. It could be anxiety but he can't identify anything that's making him feel anxious at all. We've just been referred to a pedistrician today but won't get the appointment for another few weeks. Has anyone had any other advice about this, it's so stressful to deal with every day. Thanks

Hi, I see this was really many years ago, I'm wondering if you will even see this. My daughter is 11 and ahs been experiening exactly the same thing. She has had all sorts of tests done with nothing to show for it. As I type she is nauseous and vomiting...I'm at my wits end. It's been 6 months now. Did you have any joy with your daughter?

Thank you for your update, that was extremely helpful. It's true, many people think it's all in their minds, so it's good to hear your advice. Thank you.

Hello Susan did you ever figure out what this was. My daughter is currently going through the same thing. Do you know if she was ever tested for H.Pylori bacteria?

All your stories and feelings are felt by me also as my daught has had the same experience of nausea for 8 months now. We have just discovered that she has Blastocystis as parasite which occurs in 25% of developed countries and 100% in come less developed. We haven't started treatment yet as the evidence is not clear on whether antibiotics work to clear the parasite and most people just get rid of it on thier own but its commonly confused with irritable bowel syndrome. Make sure the Drs test for everything so you can be sure theres nothing to be done. They kept saying she was stressed but the only stress she had was the abdominal illness!

I found that the probiotic Saccharomyces Boulardii can be used effectively for gastrointestinal disorders see www.ncbl.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3296087/
