There can be a number of causes. My first son had terrible issues with gas and discomfort. The gas drops and gripe water certainly can help but they are only temporary fixes. You can also try chamomile tea which actually helped my son tremendously (I gave it probably room temp). People have used it for generations in many other countries for GI upset. It could be something that you are eating. Not sure how long ago you eliminated those foods but it can take awhile for them to get out of your system completely. Another thing that can help is when you put him down to sleep - put him in his carseat. Seems weird but it worked for us - pediatrician said it makes sense because the position would be a comfortable one with a baby with gas issues. AND the good news is that sometimes it's just "colic" and typically infants outgrow that by about the 6 week mark - mine did. Good luck - it's so hard to see them in pain!

My son also does the same. But him it's because he wasn't getting enough food and because he would suck really hard on the slow flow nipples. I then have changed the nipples to fast flow and use pablum aka rice cereal in his formula. And he seems a lot better now

hi,
I see that this post was from a long time ago.. Were you ever able to figure out how to help your son? Did he just grow out of it or was there something you did to help him? I am going through the same thing and it's breaking my heart listening and watching him struggle.
