I had this same problem a couple years ago, same spots same pain. Also when I would lean to far to the right or reach to pick something up from that side something would get stuck and I would have even more trouble breathing! And I would have to push that area in order to get it to stop. I lived like that day to day and it sucked! I ended up going to a gal who told me I had stacked ribs, so she did a pressure point thing with her fingers, the middle finger was negative and the pointer finger was positive and she held her fingers in with pressure, it is hard to explain and I really never had heard of it before, She was a masseuse and whatever she did worked and they released, I have never had that problem again yet, it fixed me.

I have had the same thing for years and my doctor thinks its nerve damage. Mine hurts more with activity, exercise or just standing too long.
He thinks its the intercostal nerve (nerves that are "between" the ribs). These nerves branch out all over the chest wall.
I noticed mine first started to hurt after I went back to lifting weights and not warming up.
I have heard athletes suffer from this type of nerve damage.
Some nerve damage will never heal and I think this is one of them.

I have exactly the same pain and also have had my gb taken out. It seems to be worse after I eat which is curious because that is what happened when I HAD my gb. I also have something that I thought..as is usually the case..I was the only one who had this..a pain in my right rib cage in front that feels like a "catch" and at times pops. It feels like my lungs are catching on my rib cage. There is quite a long medical term for this but it is essentially called..in lame man's terms..a slipped rib cage. My theory is that during the gb surgery they move things around quite a bit in that area that some of us are left with this condition and the pain in our back in referred pain or associated spasms. Do I get a nice gift? LOL..Just somehow comforting to know others are feeling it..especially when the docs look at you like you are nuts..and in actuality they are perhaps the ones who caused it.

possibily ...post herpetic neuralgea...its from having chicken pox as a kid...I have the same thing...need a zostavax shot but its $300 unless your something like 65. It continues to attack your nerves. The shot may stop it or at least lessen it. When I get the money, Im getting the shot until then Im on Gabapentin 3 times a day for life...lessens the pain after you take it for a while but you cant forget and take a tums or drink anything...good luck

I also had gallbladder removed, I don't know why the word money is in blue. Anyways I'm sure you've had plenty of x rays that showed your bones are all lined up as I did. I don't want anything. Just get better!

I can understand what it feels like. The same two posts describe the pain the way i have it. I feel better on stretching my body on a floor on a yoga mat. I suppose it is chronic inflammation of the muscles especially which are used during inspiration. I have developed it because of bad posture while sleeping i think. The pain is crippling and agonizing. Muscle relaxants are helping... sleep on a firm bed or surface .

Try getting a massage...could be a wickid trigger point from the surgury. They could have cut into a nerve or muscle. Or the way you were lying in the bed wouldve made it worse.

I had the same problem a few years ago. I had my gall bladder removed and ended up in the hospital with the severe pain. Each new doctor who looked at me said it was my gallbladder. I had to keep telling them, I had my gall bladder removed.
After a year, a doctor found the problem - it was a twisted intestine. He was able to fix it and I have absolutely no pain since. Might be something to have checked.

gluten allergy or sensitivity or ciliac...read wheat belly and you ll see the blood tests are often wrong...just go off for three months and w i bet you will feel different. Some people dont like to think it may be that easy and many docs are not up on this whole area unless they have done any recent studies/research. Many docs do know the connection even to mental health issues as it was long ago that scizophrenia was linked to gluten inloerance...joint issues skin issues ibs the antibodies your body produces can go anywhere...even cross the blood brain barrier even associated with alzhimers....at least check this out!!

Still have many of the symptoms of Hypothyroid AND this stupid pain in my side/upper back like there is something inside pushing out on my ribcage! Fluctuates in intensity but is always there.
