I really wanted to love oils as a skincare mainstay. When I was introduced to them about three years ago by a friend who is "crunchy granola", and whose skin looked absolutely fantastic, after she had started using oils on her skin, I really looked forward to experimenting myself and was sure I would have the same success she did. My skin is dry, so oils sounded like the perfect solution. I have tried jojoba oil, flax oil, canola oil, argan oil, black seed oil... and probably some others I have forgotten about. It seemed to work quite nicely at first. However, now, my skin is severely dry. I just decided to throw down the gauntlet. This doers not work for me. The question is, what should I buy now?

Okay. Skincare is there to be played with, experimented with. You keep on using what works well for you, and discard what does not help you or makes your skin worse. Some people take these skincare oils to such an extreme that they become gospel, and that is silly because they certainly do not please everyone's skin. Move on, keep on experimenting, and stick with the regime you find that does please your skin. Some people do find that they are better off with higher end products and though that is a shame in terms of spending money, your skin is worth something too.

Not to sound unsupportive of those who big puffy heart love all kindsa oils to stick on their face, yeah, but I also tried that and it just didn't feel right. Greasy, yet not absorbed properly, that kind of general "unfinished" feeling to my skin, KWIM? So yeah, I ain't using oil either no more. Took me about a week, hahaha. I do like natural products that are cruelty free when possible, but only if they're also affordable, 'cause I got a tight budget to work with, so at the moment Dr Organic does it for me. Very nice products, very reasonably priced IMO.

To each their own, I guess. Using oils for my face, including the oil cleansing method, has really changed my skin for the better. Commercial cosmetic products have often caused further irritation to my already dry and sensitive skin. I have some issues with various allergies in general, and organic oils have really helped me. I can't say enough good about oil in skincare! However, I appreciate that not everyone has the same skin or the same personal preferences and if something you are currently using is not the best for your skin or if you just don't like the way a product feels or find it too much hassle to use, you are right to look for something else!
What should you buy now? That depends on what you want. What do you want? Something natural or something commercial? You should definitely get something for dry skin whatever you decide on.
