Thanks is there any way of preventing these? I use rozex antibiotic cream on them which a gynacologist prescribed. They would really get you down at times.

I, too, have small bumps on my labia. I thought was an std, but, it probably is not. Every now and again, it will act. For the most part they don't bother me. Just it turn into an open sore. Urine irrates it. (slightly) no odor,no itching. I have used Nerosporine which helped to make it heal. I think one has to extra specially careful of public toilets. I don't have any pain, embarrasing to know those pimples are there.

Hey guys I have this big sore pimple on the outside right now and it's painful... I'm really worried if it'll go away anytime soon. What do I do?

Same experience for me. I first found a lump on the inside of my right labia minora. It hurt to the touch, but had no other symptoms. After soaking it with a warm washcloth, it came to a head and burst with puss. It was nearly gone by next day.

Since this first lump, about 5 years ago, I've had 1 annually, usually in a slightly different location, but always on my labia minora. One time it was on the outside of the labia minor, but they mostly occur on the inside. I talked to a nurse who said it's likely a blocked gland, that formed an abscess. Don't squeeze if you can bear it; let it run its course. Soak and hold a warm washcloth it, or take a sitz bath.

I told me new doctor about this, and she suggested I see an OB/GYN the next time I get the bump. She didn't think it sounded like an STI. I've never thought it could be an STI, because I've been with the same faithful man for 8 years, don't wear condoms, and he's never experienced abnormalities on his genitals. Also -- the bumps tend to come after some intense, sex play or masturbating. (Like, no time to wash in between... sex sex sex.) I've also considered it to be a blocked gland issue. An abscess.

I have a bump now, and just saw a very-busy gyn yesterday who immediately suspected it to be a herpes lesion. (#@$&*!) I think its bull, especially after reading about everyone else here - even virgins - experiencing the same thing. The gyn also suggested staph infection. I told him about how none of my partners have ever had an issue; how could I have carried herpes or staph, or anything like that, around for years, with zero outbreaks from my partners? (Also zero other symptoms... of which herpes and staph have many additional symptoms.)

It just doesn't make sense. That, and the fact that these bumps don't look anything like herpes. Herpes are soft, blistery bumps, filled with clear liquid. And they scab like cauliflower. Usually come in clusters. That is nothing like this. (Do you all agree?) This is a hard lump inside the little flappy labia minor. Herpes don't produce hard lumps like this.

The gyn took a culture and I'll know the results within a week. I will be sure to update this post as soon as I know.

Ladies -- what are your thoughts on these being a 'herpes lesion'?

Yes I have to agree re the herpes thing. That was suggested to me by a Gynae too but its bull. Totally different symptoms. I spoke with a Midwife recently too who confided that she gets them too and puts it down to acne and said there's not much you can do if you are prone to them you will get them. I make an extra effort to keep the area clean of vaginal discharge. I use the mild water baby wipes and find that they help and watch my stress and sugar intake and try to keep more hydrated and also continue to use the Rozex when necessary and also watch that my trousers or underwear are not too tight or rubbing me up the wrong way so to speak to avoid the friction and blocking glands. That's the best advice I can give. Good luck ladies.

hi.

i so glad of this thread. i have two lumps. its made me feel a little less panicked. i was panicking it was genital herpes. no logic it should be, but i panic anway.

i had a lump on my outer labia which was swollen and popped easily, some pus came out. ive had to re popped and more pus came out. it then started to clear up. i now have another one on my inner labia, its sore and red. im not popping it as i plan to go to the doctors tomorrow and see what they think it is. it sounds very similar to a pimple or cyst.

UPDATE: Herpes culture came back NEGATIVE.

I KNEW it! Silly doctor.

Bacterial culture also came back Negative, which was surprising because I always assumed that the lump was some kind of abscess or infection from bad bacteria. But, the tests proved otherwise. Still waiting to hear back from the doctor re: next steps to take / prescription(s) needed. He'll likely suggest a sitz bath. I'll update this post (again) asap! SO RELIEVED.

I have the same thing :( I didn't squeeze mine though.. And I have seen thing's similar online but not the same as what I have, but what you have happening is the same as me but mines on the left, on the inside of my inner labia. It doesn't have a white top, its the same colour as the rest of that area.. Its just a small hard lump sticking out, smaller then the tip of a sharpened pencil, its really small , but I know it wasn't there before, Im pretty in tuned with my body and would have noticed it before, its just one bump. I am sexually active, but I have been with the same guy since November 2011 so I am pretty sure I am clear from STD's, we both went in to get checked for STD's last summer and we were both good, and we both haven't been with anyone else... So Im super confused about this. I am hoping it doesn't get worse Im gonna leave it alone and try not to irritate it more.. I don't know what it could be though I am perfect health and 125lbs I haven't ever had anything wrong with me, Im very clean and shower at least once a day, so its not like I have a health or hygiene problem that is causing it. I don't want to go to a doctor unless I absolutely have to, I don't like seeing doctors in the first place and this topic would be extremely awkward for me to have face to face with someone and them having a looking, especially cause I live in a small town and known the doctors since I was an infant and they know all my family and its just something I don't feel comfortable talking to them about ... Have you gone to the doctor and if you did, what was wrong?? Help a sista out!Lol. Im worried about cancer cause cancer runs in my family. Hope to hell not and that it just goes away!! I dont know much about cancer in your vagina though, lol, but I've heard of it!

I have the same sore/pimple like bump, & I can tell you all now that it is NOT an STD. So don't worry about that. Mine hurts but I put a warm cloth on it and it soothes the pain. It'll eventually go away.

freeking hell i have the same thing, it is 100% not a std because well... im a virgin haha but yeah mines on the labia minora, its best not to pop it and just let it heal itself because I think its just our cycle because sometimes i get them before my period and after its stopped to goes away. One time i poped it stayed longer and and swollen but everyones different mine only shows up when im about to start my period

Good for you!!! So many teens having sex, then worried over STD's, afraid to talk to mom in case it is (which wouldn't be a problem is not having sex), and then embarrased to admit to the dr that you are active (if embarrased, or afraid to talk to your mom, chances are, you should not be doing it!).. Nothing seems sacred anymore :(..

And, for the OP staement over fear/ embarrasment of going to the dr... I absolutely gaurantee, it is NOT anything new to him or her.. Chances are, not even close to be all that unique.. NEVER EVER allow embarasment to cause you to not seek medical care.. If it is an STD, you can become infertile, it can turn cancerous, and worse.. A Dr has seen and heard nearly everything; even newer ones, as they are taught of cases in medical school (worked w/ many and have friend that is a dr.). It is like confession- a Priest has heard it all, just like a dr has seen most everything. AND neither can tell your folks..

Okay, so I get these things all the time. Usually on my labia majora and usually right around the time I get my period. They tend to be about pea sized and blend in with the skin in the area except for a small dot in the center. Though I have had a few that got REALLY big and red.

I was completely mortified by the first one, but I asked my mom about it. She said that the things are basically big pimples/blisters/boils, that can be brought on by heat/hormones/stress. Hence the itchy soreness. They are totally normal and won't kill you. Tons of women get them, but most are too shy to talk about it, hence all the fear and confusion.

I recently got one on my labia minora, and boy did that hurt!

If you do get one, don't go poking at it, and DON'T pinch or squeeze it. First off, it hurts like the dickens, second, your hands are covered in germs, you don't want to go giving yourself an infection, and making the thing worse. Your body will get rid of it on it's own in a few days. A week tops. Soaking in a warm bath or pressing a hot rag to it for a few minutes a day can help make them shrink or burst on their own.

The best way to keep from getting them in the first place is to wear breathable COTTON undies and keep your area as COOL and DRY as possible.
