Hello,

I had a medical abortion about 5 weeks ago, and it worked but there was some pregnancy tissue left over so about 2 weeks ago I had to go in for a surgical suction abortion to remove the excess tissue.

I was told to wait 3 weeks before having sex again, and with the medical abortion I did wait the 3 weeks. With the surgical suction I only waited two weeks (and used protection) because after extensive online research all the reliable places said you only needed to wait one to two weeks and so I trusted that. I don't have a fever, no dizziness or fainting or diarrhea, no weird discharge, no bleeding, but I'm having slight abdominal pain, actually it doesn't hurt it just feels weird, and I'm unsure if I should be worried or not. It isn't like a horrible sensation, nor does it cause me much discomfort, it's just noticeable and I was concerned about it and whether I may have a post abortion infection or not. It's been a day since I had sex so I'm not sure if it's from that or just feels weird because it was the first time I'd had sex in a long time or what.
