I'm in the process of scheduling a total hysterectomy. I don't have a choice about the hysterectomy, but, on the other hand, I do have a choice to keep (or not to keep) my ovaries. Now, I'm in my mid 40s and menopause is not far away. Anyway, some say I should keep them while others say to let them take them out. I’m very confused and don’t know what to do... Should I keep them?? What do you think?? Your comments??

I think you (and your doc, of course) should look at your family history. If there is any evidence that they may “go wrong” in the future, than you should have them taken out. But, if you ar not absolutely sure of that, than I would recommend you keep them – God gave them to you for some reason!!! That’s just a thought...
