my daughter is 18 and has been on oxys for 3 yrs then turned to a methadone clinic but continues to go back to the oxy, now she is trying suboxine.I am thankful that she is honest with me but at a loss as to what to do for her. she refuses to go to a rehab, and this has affected her to the point she no longer works or goes to school, she has stolen money from family members which resulted in no longer being welcome in their homes. Im afraid for her life and will take any advise on how to help her

I'm sorry to hear what you are going through with your daughter. I'm sure you've tried talking to her about the path of self-destruction that she is on, but maybe try something that would be more of a wake-up call or more of a gut check that would make her realize the extent of what she is doing. Find a way to explain to her that not being welcome in the homes of your own family members is extremely serious and that she needs to think about how it came to that and whether she wants to live the rest of her life the way she has for the past few years.
You should make it as clear as possible to her that the only way that she can get her life back is by getting on suboxone. Being on suboxone would be her way of shielding out and keeping out all the drugs she's been putting in her body. Encourage her that if she wants to have a normal life in this world, that she needs to get on suboxone as soon as possible. Ask her where she sees herself in a year, in 2 years, and in 5 years and whether or not she sees herself still addicted to drugs then.
You may or may not have already tried some of this. I hope I helped.
Best of luck to you and your family.
Take care,
Jeff

Put her in rehab. If i knew then what i know now ....
coming from summon who's on oxys right now, ur past the point of talkin, u need to take action and put her in impatient rehab. the first time i went to rehab i was 15 n looking back i wish i would stayed clean cuz 4 yrs later look at me im still smoking n putting sh*t up my nose. So try it.
U cant make her get clean BUT u can give her the tools that she can use to get there .. i guess theres no easy way to say it but.. i dont know, from my point of view i dont think there is a way to help her. There really isnt. Only a drug addict can help themself, no one else
