hi all, i had my left ovary removed last dec 27, 2011,. after a year i still feel the pain now. Me and my husband was trying to have baby after 8 months of marriage. I was worried of not getting pregnant anymore because of one ovary left, i feared i could not bear a child anymore because of the abortion i had when i was 18 years old..Is this the consequence of my action, please help and give me some advice.

I also am 25 years of age and just had a laproscopic surgery on 1/09/2013. I had a dermoid cysts removed from my left ovary. It's been two days since then and I feel pain now and then. I am so thankful to God that I listened to my first thought to go to the doctor when I started getting pains on my left side or I as well would have lost a ovary. I had alot of damaged tissue removed as well. I really believe that this is a wonderful website for women to get on and share information as well as their experiences. I wish you lady's a speedy recovery as well as a happy and healthy recovery!! GET WELL SOON LADIES

Hi everyone, I've recently been told I have dermoid cysts on both ovaries -- A large one on my right ovary and a smaller one on my left (was told by the obstetrician-gynaecologist that I would probably win the award for biggest cyst this year!). This is all really overwhelming for me, as I am only 19 and am freaking out that I may be facing infertility and, if they have to remove both ovaries, surgical menopause. I have my next appointment with the gyn in two weeks, but in the last few days, I've noticed dull pain that has been increasingly persistent, in both sides of my abdomen and constant back pain. I was just wondering if this was normal? Was thinking about going to my GP, but I don't want to go in if it is nothing serious. What is people's experience with having their ovaries removed? The gyn said that they would do everything they could to preserve the ovaries, but when I (briefly) met the specialist when I got the second ultrasound, he seemed to indicate that i would almost definitely lose at least the right, and possibly part of the left. Are there any medical implications of losing so much, in regard to lower hormone levels and fertility? Also, what about the re-occurrence of cysts later in life? If I only have part of my left ovary left after all of this, what's going to happen if the cysts come back in a few years? Please help, I am freaking out! :-(

My 13 year old daughter had a 4.5 cm ovarian cyst removed in november and a 1.5 cm from right side she had a lot of pain on the left side in one exact spot she could put her finger on it ..Very tender and not severe pain but very sore she said sore enough to make her walk funny and with a hump and she goes pale when really sore and annoyed ...now 4 months later and 3 stays in hospital later after 5 ultra sounds one ct scan and numberous blood tests shes been told she needs to talk to a phychologist about the pain which they maintain is Reccurant Abdominal Pain but in my opinion they dont know what it is so are throwing this c**p at us and i believe a blessing from the priest would have a better chance of getting rid of the pain than a phychologist so frustrated right now as pain is still very bad and shes after missing 30 days school in last 4 months of a very important year and there just gonna send us home ....anyone have anything like this they could share ....

It may be adhesions. I had a 7cm dermoid removed in Dec. and still have pain in the same area. I have had a follow up CT which came back clear. I'm almost certain the pain is due to adhesions in my case.

Had 6 different ultrasounds and CT scan done at this stage now and they were happy it wasnt adhesions we got sent home yesterday and told it wasnt anything serious in there minds and that it will pass in time but they couldnt tell me how much time and with her being 13 shes in a very important year in school and has missed 30 days since november how much time do i let her miss ..Really they havent a clue and think that its link to a phychological thing but shes a very happy girl she is not being abused or being a bully so i think there wrong and in a few weeks im gonna ring them if the pain is still there and im gonna go nuts....4 months now all these tests and no answers
