I have a painful swollen node under my Left ear and it is very painful, almost hard to swallow, tho no sore throat, but feels like "something is in the way" I have had this 3 times now and am getting worried it is more than an infection in a node. It does get better with rest and at night and then the next morning it starts all over again and is very painfuil and swells up to a golf ball size. ANyone with any help or info, I would appreciate it. I did have antibiotics and steriods 2 mo ago for the same thing, only this time I am swollen worse. Opinions wanted

I had a throat infection that lasted for a month. Took about 2 months for my nodes to go down. The odd thing was though is that nodes not just swollen by my throat. The nodes were swollen everywhere on my body including my pancreas. And certain nodes as you describe by your ear would be extremely swollen in the morning and go down during the course of the day. Seems like maybe from just sleeping on them they swelled like that but not sure. After a course of steroids and anti-biotics it took a long time which made me worry but eventually they did return to normal size. Hope all is well with you.

I have had the same thing twice now too. My doctor had given me a strong anitbiotic the first time and it went away. Now with this time, the lump is worse and the lump is twice the size and more painful. My doctor the first time took a CAT scan and it came up normal. My doctor thought it was nothing and I shouldn't worry about it. Now with this time I'm little worried because its bigger and extremely painful. I don't know what to say to you guys with the same problem. i will let you know when I have an anwser.
