hi everyone...so thankful for finding this topic.....got exactly the same problems: palpitations (a huge thump) and then nausea+sweating, but it goes away pretty fast. was checked by doctors and numberless cardiologists (echo, holter, ECG....) - all fine, heart is healthy. I've been on Lexapro for a few months now and it still happens - was diagnosed with panic disorder and anxiety....during my menstrual cycle things get worse......also visiting a therapist and hope I can get over this. but it's really annoying. but I get a feeling it's connected to my stomach - feels like swallowing lots of air and then I burp for hours....could it be connected to my diet as well? it's sooo annoying and scary sometimes.

Nice to find these posts - although I'm so sorry for all of us!  I wake about 2 days a week now with heartpounding, then diahreah then dry heaves (because I have no appetite and don't eat much - so there's nothing there to heave). I shake like I have Parkinsons when this is happening and the "doom feeling"...just anxiety?  Also have IBS. It's just awful.

I've had heart palpitations at several different times in my life. First time I was about 25 or 26. I wore a monitor 24/7 for 30 days. Dr. Told me stress. Ever since, at times of intense stress, they start again. I've been having them day and night for last week and it's about to drive me nuts. I know in my head it's just anxiety and that it won't kill me but as I also have severe anxiety panic disorder, my body screams dying dying dying every time it skips. I wouldn't wish this feeling on my worst enemy. Luckily, my Dr understands and gave me a prescription for Xanax. Yes, it's highly addictive but I only take as needed. I've taken more in the past week than in the whole last 2 months combined. I'm so glad I'm not alone.

Classic signs of panic attack. I'm sorry you're having them! If you're religious, pray through them. That seems to help me sometimes. Other times, I walk on my treadmill. It's as if I keep walking and making my heart pump I know it's not stopping. Doesn't make any sense but neither do these attacks

Mya,

I am on here trying to find relief for my sister. Your situation sounds exactly the same as hers. She also say when these "episodes" come on something is dripping down her throat and she has had to burp to feel better. Her chest feels tight and she is so scared but thinks its indigestion. Just wondering have you founds any relief?? She refuses to believe it is panic disorder.

Thanks.
Amanda

I've had night sweats, waking with pounding heart and early morning urgent bowel movements, sometimes diarrohea, frequent bowel movements thru the day and occasionally hard to breathe for few years now following Noro virus infection. Felt like allergic reaction to me rather than the panic attacks some suggested may be. Recently had two episodes of severe heartburn pain. Just had blood test which showed high endomysial antibody levels indicator for coeliac disease although I had eliminated gluten & dairy from my diet to try & relieve bowel symptoms. Maybe I or restaurant I'd visited slipped up but may be worth investigating as gluten free diet is much easier than these symptoms! good luck all

Have you considered hyperthyroidism? You would need an expert doc; the generic blood test they do may or may not show the problem.

Ive had them for 30 years + , since i was about 5. I kept having all these symptoms and then blacking out. Starts with palpitations, then burning sensation iin Stomach like i need to release my bowels, then cold sweats and severe headaches... Then boom, im out for the count! I had a reveal device fitted and it recorded my heart pausing for 26 seconds so now i have a pacemaker. Yesterday i felt all these symptoms but I never blacked out. They have not lablled the condition properly as there are a few issues, one is vegalvaso syncope... Or vasovagal syncope (I always get it wrongway around) The other is not yet confirmed.
