I’ve got very bad looking swollen bumps around the base of nail fond. They were tender and appeared suddenly. I couldn’t remember what might cause these changes on my fingers and was worried. Than I got diagnose of acute paronichia. I got loprox to apply twice daily. What’s the cause of paronichia and is it recurrent disease?

I had acute paronychia too. My fingers were swollen and painful. There was also yellow pus under the cuticle. It was terrible. But these symptoms had lasted for about 3-4 days. That’s the good think about acute paronychia and it rarely happens repeatedly.
