PENIS BURNING AFTER URINATION, STD TEST NEGATIVE

Hi again I ended up being prescribed 6 x Amoxycillin in one dose (3g) but it either hasn't totally cleared it up, or I've had re infection - going back tomorrow to meet with the dr again - will keep you updated though as I've been struggling with this way too long!

Sorry for the delay, further test showed Haemophilius beta lactimase, which needed to be treated by a different antibiotic, likely augmentin

Symptoms are usually within 3-10 days of sexual contact and usually start with sting while urinating, which turns into a painful burning urination, redness around the urethra and the general tingling in the head of the penis, fairly unpleasant all round :( 

I too had oral sex unprotected, and followed by protected sex. The second day after contact, I felt cloudy headed, nausea, swollen and red testacles, red tip and red around the head and under head. I am circumsized and am noticing tiny white bumps. Maybe two or three but not clustered or anything. Get a sometimes numb feeling in testacles and penis shaft. Prickly feeling on penis head and testacles. Sore back from time to time, pain in lower abdomin, mostly on left side which usually follows by left testicular pain or dull sensation. Sometimes get a shocking pain from groin all the way too lower back. Been gradually better but still have dull feeling in genatils, and some muscle pain in legs. The red tip is not as often as they gave me cortisol cream with a anti fungus, but testacles still red and saggy. Still have some white bumps and no they are not Forsyth bumps cause they weren't there before, and genatils seem to be clamy. When it first started genatils would start to get really heated up and would dissipate after a half hour or so. Been tested twice and all negative for clap/gonnareah, HIV, and doc assured me it wasn't herpes. Seen 4 nurses, and five doctors. One doc said slightly inflamed prostate and put me on cipro for a month. Another doc gave me Zithromax/suprax just in case. Another gave me fluconazole 3 tablets 100mg, and cortisol/ fungal cream. Been tested for parasites and a stool and blood sample all negative. All the docs said it was in my head and that I was a healthy man. It's been six weeks and I've lost 50lbs cause getting depressed cause there's no answers. What I find makes it worse is sitting and lifting. I was 230lbs six weeks ago now weigh 179, HELP. For some reason I think it's HPV. I forgot to mention also stings not during but after I pee for about 2min and also irritated after sex. I'm married but this was a marital affair, fessed up cause the guilt was killing me and thought that would help me get better, nope but she has forgivin me. Dad was diagnosed with cancer that week too, and was working out of town for 6 weeks away from family.(very stressful). I mention this cause the docs said it was in my head because of all the stress I was under. But it's too much of a coincidence I think

I really hope you get this post since it's been a month since you posted but what is your update now? Have you been cured? Tell me more about haemophilius beta lactimase and the antibiotic augmentin please. I been to 10 doctors and they all have no idea but everything you wrote about the burning tingling and redness I have/had. Are there more symptoms because I've had testicle pain, mostly left.. penile discharge and other symptoms actually one major one is all of my genitals feeling really cold but that seems to have come more in the later months.. Have you had all these symptoms? I really hope you see this soon and I'll def keep checking for an update as I see another doctor on Thursday.. I've had this for 10 months and I just want it to be gone forever! I received oral, no intercourse. Please get back to me as soon as you can

Thanks for sharing your stories, theories and attempted treatment trials.  This is how we will eventually pin point what is causing our pain.

My story is slightly different, but after having unprotected sex for literally 1 minute and receiving oral prior to, my penis head was burning instantly during the "after sex pee."  Interesting I thought, as this pain happened so suddenly and was very unpleasant.

Following a visit to the Dr, I was unable to give a urine sample due to the severe pain and ordered Azithromycin 1 gram (Chlamidya), 250 mg IM Ceftriaxone (Gonorrhea) and a 7 day course of Ciprofloxacin 500 mg 2x per day (Bacterial Urinary Tract Infection).  

I started this regimen to cover all my bases which barely helped.  Why wasn't it working though? I'm on a regimen to kill every type of bacterial that could be inhabiting my urethra, but I'm getting little relief so half way through my regimen that's when it hit me.  The penis is an end organ.  What this means is that it has one blood supply coming in and one coming out.  Unlike other parts of the body with multiple arteries feeding the organs or tissues, the penis will get limited amounts of antibiotics which is absorbed into the blood flow, therefore the recovery is slow.  Now, if the concentration does not reach therepeutic levels before the course of antibiotics is finished, then uh-oh, the bacteria left will multiply and the pain comes back.  To help with this, I used Polysporin up to 5x/day where i'd take a small amount, spread it over the entrance to the ureathra on my penis head and then i'd apply vaseline to seal it in there.  

It's been 7 days now and I've been using the combination of Ciprofloxacin and polysporin and THANK GOD, no more pain! I will continue the polysporin for 4 more days to verify every type of bacteria is dead.  Also, eat yogurt 2-3x a day to replace the natural flora that is being killed off and avoid a yeast infection from Candida.  You can also use a Neomycin with an added pain killer to numb the tip of the penis and avoid pain early on in the course of this infection.

For the record I'm a microbiologist and a 1st year Medical Resident by trade and unfortunately I didn't have the facilities to culture the culprit, but this theory made sense to me and I implore those of you who feel this pain to give it a try if it was in relation to my situation.  

Lastly, avoid trojan spermicidal condoms as the chemicals within will also irritate the penis head.

I'm hoping and praying for anyone with this pain.  It's real.  It's painful and it has a way to stop the simple things we enjoy in life like going to the bathroom.

I've read your post and I'm one of the people that have had this problem for about 10 months, seen 10 urologists had all tests (which are always negative) and noone can figure out what's wrong.. I am curious with your situation what are all the symptoms you've had? I'm curious to know if we have similar situations or not.. Please get back to me as soon as you can

The symptoms I had included increased urinary frequency, turbid urine, hesitation, pressure like pain in the urethral tip (penile head) and of course dysuria (pain on urination).

I'm more curious to know what your situation was and what happened prior to your symptoms occuring.

I'm someone who eats very healthy takes care of my body and keeps physically fit. I also don't do random hook ups and I don't sleep around. All the symptoms seemed to start in Nov 2012 after this girl I was dating in October 2012 had given me a bj. About 2-3 weeks later, first week of November I started getting this burning sensation while I was urinating. Didn't think much of it until it kept happening. Testicle pain (mostly left side) seemed to follow and redness/irritation at the tip of the penis and penile discharge (only when moving bowels and mostly white or clear but sometimes a rare whiteish/yellow clumpyness) was also now a symptom I was experiencing. This all followed by a very painful pricking feeling inside the head of the penis. All these symptoms were pretty much happening at the same time. As the months progressed some other symptoms I've gotten/currently have are all of my genitals have a very cold sensation especially the head of the penis and testicles. I've had all the tests done several times and everything is negative yet I'm still stuck with these current symptoms and I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. All the doctors, about 10 that I've seen all say I'm fine and that I'm making this up which pisses me off to no end because I'm clearly not making this up and wanting to spend thousands of dollars to waste my time over something that is "in my head." As the months pass, some symptoms disappear, some major ones stay. The ones I currently have are: Redness and irritation at tip of the penis, penile discharge (still only when moving bowels), cold genitals (like a dogs nose) and testicle pain on and off. The symptoms also seem to take cycles which is really weird but those are the ones that have always been present. The burning sensation, frequent urination, lower back pain were all brief and haven't really come back except the burning sensation a few times but that's now rare. I purposely stay away from sleeping around and all that kind of stuff for years for this reason and yet I still get this c**p.. I have no idea what's wrong and neither do the doctors and none of them are willing to help me out. My tests say negative but I have symptoms that say something is wrong and I want to get to the bottom of this once and for all! Oh and I've also taken all the antibiotics for all the normal stds (that I tested negative for) just to be on the safe side hoping I'd find an answer and yet still the same problem with no answer. If you have any idea what could be wrong with me or can help me in any way please help. I've been like this just under a year and it's time I get rid of this once and for all! Thanks Dr. D

Sorry for the delay. It's been a busy week. I have more questions:
1) How soon after the fellatio did you take a course of antibiotics?
2) Have you seen a urologist? DId they rule out urethral strictures?
3) Have you completed a VDRL and FTS-antibody test for Treponema Pallidum?
4) Have you had your urethral discharge during your bowel movements cultured? I'd highly recommend this to start.
5) Are you still with the same girl? I need to rule out passing an infection back and forth.

Hey sorry, has been a while, back in pain and on my second course of Doxy/Alprim to try beat this, it seems I was getting better but going to the gym has irritated everything and like the other post said, the antibiotics have to get into a concentrated area, with the epididymitis, the hemophilus has gotten in there and because your epididymis protects the semen it's hardly about to start attacking so it's lots of antibiotics for the moment :-(
