For a couple monhs now, my period has arrived as it should. I get all the typical symptoms, and bleeding begins after very painful cramping. But I only seem to bleed for a day, two at the most. I now that my period hasnt come to an end as I am still cramping, and bloated at that stage, there is just no blood! I spoke to the local nurse and she told me to wait and see if it happens again. My cycle has always been regular, and I ususally bleed for 4 days - heavy the first 2 then regular for the remainder. The last couple months that is not the case. My partner and I eventually want children and I am just concerened what ever this is, could possibly effect that out come. Should I be concerened? Or is this something that other people are experiencing?

Hi hun, hope your ok.

Its funny you have written this post, as I have been like this for 2 years now!

I started my period as normal about 12 and it was fine for 2 years. Unfortunately due to rapid weight gain, i got a hormone imbalance, and except today (when my period started) I hadn't had my period for nearly 2 years!

It started a few days ago, when i couldn't think straight and concentrate, I was clumsy, aggressive/moody. tired, stomach cramps/pain, nausea, no appetite, mild headaches and feeling ill.

This morning I woke up and there was the tiniest bit of blood. It's already stopped now....

Could be a hormone imbalance? Let me know what your doctor thinks?

Hi
Your age would be a factor. If you're in your mid to late thirties or above, you could be experiencing the typical (pre-menopause) symptoms that are typical around that age. Mostly, this seems to involve irregularity of the menstrual cycle, i.e. unpredictable and extremely heavy to light bleeding. Your doctor can confirm that. Do you have any other symptoms? Are you on any type of medication? Are you on any type of birth control? If so, do you take it as prescribed? Did you just stop taking it, or perhaps just start taking it. Those questions would be important things to consider. Any of those situations might cause your period to be irregular. See a doctor to put your mind at ease. Let us know what he says.
