Sperm have a low tolerance to hot / cold situations. Literally the conditions have to be perfect or they die off. Washing them and then drying them is a good way to kill a lot of them. Did you kill them ALL? Probably unlike as they can fit in cracks and grooves in skin. But there in again the temperature outside of the body is generally lower.
