I have some consistent clicking in my ear and that's actually related to TMJ, which is where my jaw pops out of socket. It's very painful at times but that's what causes the clicking. Has anyone considered this possibility?

Had the problem and looked here. Mines been going on for 3 days until just now, I think I fixed it. Trying EVERYTHING, I put mild pressure on the nodes ? between the jaw bone and neck for about a minute, and it went away. Just coughed and it came back. Tried again, so far so good. Really drives me nuts. Had tubes as a kid, wonder if that had anything to do with it ? Still gone and I type slow. This is not a reco, just an experiance I'm passing along. Still gone ..... Good luck to me !

OMG, I didn't even think I would get a hit on this, but here are all these posts, mine started about 4 days ago in my Rt. ear when I lay down and that is exactly what it sounds like/morse code. Rather Freaky dont ya think? I have allergies also but have never experienced this before and yes it's annoying. I finally do fall asleep and it's gone. So....if anyone comes up with answer's other then Aliens contacting us it would be appreciated.

I am 17 and have the same thing, i've had it for about a year. I used to get it for a week, then it would go away for a month, then come back. Its ust in my right ear and sounds like morse code. It's driving me crazy! I've been to the doctors about it and he sent me for an MRI but I haven't got the results yet. If anyone finds any info on it or how to stop it i would appreciate it. I'm currenty studying for my A2 levels and I'm finding it hard to concentrate on revision.

Well, over the past two days I've been having a ringing sound in my ear. I was at a friends house and they were playing some music for a few hours, everything was fine. When I left I put my earbuds in and began listening to music. Once I got home I began hearing a ring, I thought maybe if I sleep it'll go away, but no. Didnt work. Now, I'm beginning to hear a vibrating sound when I talk loud. Its so weird, and making my anxiety worse x worse. HELP ME! Haha

Yep Morse code that has got it spot on, mine is in my left it started about 3 weeks ago the odd night I could here it now its with me most of the day I have suffered with tinnitus for about 5 years but this is something else the only saving grace is that I too can plug my ear at night and it fades away but with tinnitus you can`t do that I always use my mobile phone with my left ear, wonder if its that. I went swimming the other night and it went for a couple of hours don`t know why but its back with me now. I`m going to try the steam room tonight my theory is a build up of mucus if it works I will be in there for a while I will let you know

My wife has had a clicking in her left ear for months. She has a deviated septum and problems with clenching her jaw. The clicking is so loud that I can hear it when we're in bed. ENT specialist suggested eustachian tube dysfunction but who knows. CTscans show minor mucosal thickening within the interior left maxillary antrum.
What I want to know is are there any studies being done on what seems to be a relatively common phenomenon. Any help or directions in this area would really be appreciated and we'll feed back anything that we learn.
Good luck to you all
Thanks
Greg

I have this tapping sound in my right ear -- usually in the morning then goes off.
Could it be due to High Blood Pressure and weak or damaged year drums?

tapping seems to have gone, no help at ENT said I would have to live with it easy for them to say. I started taking a herbal remedy to clear catarrh and sinus since then it has gone

I've been having the same thing for about a month. I thought it was water dripping in the pipes of my apartment because I only heard it at home. I had to start sleeping with a fan on to drown out the noise. Then this evening I was sitting in my car and it was quiet and I heard the noise again. Then I knew it was me and not the pipes. I am the same way, I only hear it when I am in a quiet place and resting. Would appreciate any info you can provide.

Im a 27yr old female and i am having this sound of morse in my Right ear and also born profoundly deaf, hear with the use of hearing aids, i use to beable to use the phone no-problem but 5 years ago i started to get really bad ringing sounds and similar sound to being on a plane. This morse code sound started 4-5days ago at first i thought it was my hearing aid playing up and it does beep when it due to have battery changed but soon as i took them out it was still there its driving me mental, I am also spiritual as well and even tried to translate morse code haha that was pointless its to fast and i dunno where to start, Ive even had sound as if there is several people talking but i could never make it out this is with my hearing aids off. Im going mad here with all this,ENT for me asap

To those of you who find the tapping stops when you put your finger in your ear, it is probably your 'Tensor Tympani ' muscle causing it.
