If you have a B12 deficiency which is a possible cause of constant pins and needles. Vitamin supplements will not be enough, these syptoms occur when a B12 deficiency is left untreated and once damage is done to the nervous system.... early symptoms of B12 deficiency are low energy, breathlessness, eye twitching, heart Pulpitations and many more.....therefore you must all go for a blood test and if your levels are low you will have a course of B12 injections. Please do this as soon as possible as the syptoms will get a lot worse if untreated and could become irrrversible as it means nerve damage.

Hi everyone, i have full body pins and needles- three times i have had this in the last three years- normally is goes after about six days but so far I have had it for over a week and a half. sometimes they are so bad they feel like 1000 of needles. I have been to three doctors had an MRI and they all have said nothing is wrong- my B vitamins are good- I do not have MS, brain tumor, diabetic or anything else like that- I just dont know what else to do. I have been taking vitamins but that hasnt helped and because they are not 'concentrated in one area' the doctor has ruled out a pinched nerve. Its driving my crazy! any help would be appreciated.

Finding these forums is a relief! I am exhausted from being 'ding-donged' half to death at night by random, shooting, stabbing, stinging, pains all over [and I do mean all over!] that I started searching for threads on this topic.
My labs are clean and there are no obvious abnormalities. In years past, I was quite ill from Lyme but have completely recovered. And then just over a year ago these horrible pains started zinging and zapping me. At first it was mostly while sleeping and I had days and weeks without any pain at all. Now it's becoming almost constant.
The only thing I've taken that seems to help is magnesium. I take it orally and then use a topical solution which seems to help.
Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions are appreciated.
All the best to each of you,
Brenda.

Hi. I've had pins and needles mainly in my mid back / lat area for several months now and just recently started noticing them randomly in other parts of my body (hamstrings, neck, etc). Never got a burning feeling though, only prickling. I'm 26 years old and I've had a history of back problems for some time now - used to go to a chiropractor a few years ago and recently just got done with some physical therapy.
I'm wondering if anyone has tried getting regular deep massages and if that's helped at all? What about acupuncture? I try to continue a weekly workout routine but sometimes the pins and needles are a turnoff. They tend to come when I'm first getting started but like someone else mentioned about 20 minutes in, once the blood is flowing and I'm warmed up, they go away.
My experience with doctor's so far has been disappointing because they don't really take a time to help you figure out a problem like this that is not even close to life threatening but a major on-going discomfort.

D00d,
I'm 16 and i get the same as you do, but mostly on my torso, sometimes the back of my head (but i blame that on my dandruff), and like you, i get the thing randomly and in waves sometimes, the last one being sooo bad i practicly freeze up until it stops, cuz it lasts for maybe around 5-9 sec then its over.
i'm not entirely sure when it started, so...idk.
culd use some help with it, so someone else should reply to this.
you are welcome if you wanted someone to post reply to you.

yeh teh same thing is happening to me and i am 19, it all started when i was about 17. it seams as the hotter i get the more pin and needles sensation i get. i get it like wildfire, and have to itch them or go to a cool place. i been to docters, they said its a sudden rush of blood that causes this and it some cases is severe (like us). what i do is try not to get hot suddenly and stay calm as much as i can. so i now can control the sensation. use ur mind to stay cool (open your mind says morphius)

I get the sensation of pins and needles all over my body but it seems to only happen when I am laying down. Also it starts at the tips of my fingers and toes and works it's way inward getting more painful as it progresses to the point where it is unbareablly painful. this is also coupled with being rendered completely parallelized I try to move I try to speak but I can do nothing although I'm fully conscious.
I would go to the Dr but as I am in the middle of undergoing medical examinations to adopt my stepson I'd rather not alert him to anything which may hinder that.

This might be a side effect related to "chemtrails" they are spraying in the atmosphere. Also forgetfulness is one of the symptoms? Just a guess. Is anyone else noticing this?

I am truly amazed to find so many people suffering from the same condition I have - and not knowing why. Three years ago I began having constant tingling in my entire body, sometimes even stabbing pain like I was stuck with a pin. Pins and needles is a good way to describe it. Sometimes it's worse than others.
I've been to a chiropractor, a neurologist who did nerve testing and found nothing, an acupuncturist (which did help the sensations) and also a massage therapist. All my medical tests are normal, I don't have high blood pressure, B12 deficiency or any other medical reason for this.
One thing you might consider if you suffer from this is whether or not you have an MSG sensitivity. I knew my tingling was worse after eating out in a restaurant and I read about MSG and it causes all the symptoms which I have, plus other things I also suffer from, like tinnitis. There is a lot of info out there on MSG. One website, http://msgmyth.com/ offers a lot of help, plus a weeklong MSG free diet you can try to see if your symptoms are better after following it.
I try to limit the MSG in my diet but it's almost impossible to completely eat an MSG free diet. I'm not sure if this is causing my symptoms but it's the most recent thing I've found which offers a little hope.
I've also found that yoga and meditation help ease the symptoms.
