Hello All. I have polymyositis and I've been living with it for 6 years now.
I was told 1997 I had the disease. I will be 73 in July. You learn to make choices every day on what you can do, like laundry, doing dishes or washing your hair. Your arms and legs can only do so much a day. God Bless and take care!
I'm a 68-year-old female and have had polymyositis for 11 years. After my latest high reading, which was over 750, was brought down to the 300 range with steroids and infusions, my primary physician suggested I eat a plant-based diet only, to try and keep inflammation down without steroids. Nothing to lose but an everlasting struggle with polymyositis, infusions, and steroids, I took the challenge. I am now 14 months into a plant-based lifestyle, my CK is around 70. no steroids, no more infusions 4 times a year for the last 18 months... Might not work for everyone, but a responsible plant-based diet, hard as it was in the beginning, has helped me.
