Can I be pregnant although my urine test is negative?
I think that I have symptoms that are not pre-menstrual and I’ve noticed a few blood spots this morning. It’s not time for my period to come. Did it happen to someone? I need information about positive vs. negative result for pregnancy.

When your test is positive, you can be sure that you are pregnant. But when it is negative you can’t be 100% sure that you are not pregnant. So, that’s the score. Positive means positive, but negative doesn’t have to mean negative.

It is hard to get an accurate result before your period is due, it is best to wait until it is a couple of days late and then take the test

for the past two months, my gf has been getting her period in almost the same week, which started a few days b4 end of e 2nd week. for this month, her period has not come yet even when its already e end of 2nd week. we've been having sex so she took a pregnancy test yesterday and it came out negative. should i still ask her to take e test again after a week? bcoz her period's kinda irregular. b4 the past two months, her period dates are like all over the place, not fixed at all but the last two months, she got her periods in 2nd week for both months. can it mean that her period is becoming regular? and should i ask her to take a pregnancy test again? thanks.

You shouldn’t ask her to take a pregnancy test again if she doesn’t want to. You may talk about it and ask her if she would want to or if she feels that she should have another one.
Home pregnancy tests should show correct results two weeks after unprotected sex or the one you suspect could have gotten her pregnant. You may count from the last sexual contact.

If her periods are irregular I doubt they would become regular all of a sudden. They may be regular for some time and then become hectic again. However, if she’s been put on birth control pills or other hormones, her period could be getting regular but once she would stop taking the hormones, the periods would become irregular again.

This is what I would suggest she did. She should see a gynecologist and ask for birth control pills. Her doc should run some tests and see if it’s ok for her to start taking hormonal pills. This may make her periods regular for the time being and protect her from becoming pregnant if she hasn’t already.

If her cycle is normally irregular, twice in a row doesn't mean that it is regular now. If she is still young, it might indicate that she is starting to get into some kind of pattern. When you have sex do you use condoms? If you are worried about pregnancy, she could consider some other type of contraceptive. If there is an incident that you are especially worried about ie broken condom, no condom... then get her to take a pregnancy test at least two weeks after the event

My period started June 4,it's now june 12. I'm on mircette birth control, i have had one instance of unprotected sex, between the 4 and 12. Which my bf pulled out like always. I always have regular periods. I went to the hospital for pain in the abdomen, they saw i had bladder infection, and then told me i was pregnant! ahhh i was freaking out! but then they did two blood tests which said negative. They gave me antibiotics for my bladder, and 6 hours later tested me for pregnancy which came out negative. What is going on? Isn't it way too soon for mybody to be showing a positive test about a week after my period started, and why did it go away after antibiotics. Im so confused!!! Could it be the bacteria in my body or proteins in my urine?

Hi.
I've taken three pregnancy test, they all turned out to be positive. But i have no symptoms what so ever. I am scared because i am young, and it was unexpected. If i am pregnant, what should be my first step? and letting my parents know whats going on without them going off on me? Thanks for your time.

Raye,

Your period is not always an accurate way to determine if you are pregnant. A "few blood spots" are common in women that are not pregnant and not near their menstrual cycle.

As the "Guest" proposed you should wait at least two weeks from your last sexual encounter to run a home pregnancy test. In this day and age they are fairly accurate yet some women still buy multiple ones. In the end whatever provides reassurance is the answer.

fr3sita,

If your pregnancy test is positive.....well, your pregnant.

You should make an appointment with your Doctor. He/she will refer you to an OB/GYN.
