I recently got my tonsils and adenoids out on Mar. 14, 2013. I was in a lot of pain after the surgery, but over the weekend i could steadily feel myself getting better. But then on Monday, i experienced an incredible spike of pain where my left tonsil used to be. Since then, the right side has experienced hardly any pain whatsoever, but the left side keeps getting worse and worse. It is now at the point where it's painful to talk and breathe. I know that i'm supposed to keep swallowing, but i'm in so much pain i can't get anything down anymore. I have tried taking tylenol on a regular cycle, but nothing seems to be working. Is this normal to be happening? And does anyone know of anything to get rid of the pain so i can eat and drink again? Maybe like a numbing mouthwash or something? Please help!
