Hii i am 27yrs old..i had an appendix laproscopic surgey 15 days back..the appendix didnt rupture it was in starting stage..after how many days i can try and plan for baby..i want to become pregnany soon..now i am not taking any medicines everything is alright now i dont have any problem now..can i become pregnant now or i need to wait for some more days..pls tell me

Even if your appendix didn't rupture and you are feeling fine after laparoscopic removal, it still takes six to eight weeks fort the inside wound to completely heal, so you should wait minimum two months before you start trying to get pregnant. Even if the incision is small, your intestines need the time to properly heal - you definitely don't want complications during pregnancy and as your pregnancy progresses further along it will have an effect on the scar tissue left by appendectomy. So, wait until it fully heals and, of course, you can always consult your gynecologist.

Hi, I would agree with Nikols! I had my appendix taken out on Oct 2 2010 and I got pregnant 2 weeks after and I didn't know what was going on with my body! Since I've been pregnant (this is my 2nd) I have had nothing but complications and being sore all the time! I was in the hospital about a month and a half ago due to contractions and because of the surgery my uterus is weak! I hope everything works out for you!
