Hello. I am a woman that is 23 years old and I would like to know what neuropathy is. I am interested mostly in the progressive polyneuropathy, since I heard that my ex teacher has it. The term "neuro" suggests that it has something to do with the nerves. So, I would be grateful if someone could help me out. Thanks.

Well, neuropathy refers to the damage of the nervous system somewhere along it. Polyneuropathy means that it isn't on one place, but on more than one, and progressive polyneuropathy means that it is already on more places and that it is going to expand by time. It is nasty disorder, and people can loose many motor movements because of it. But progressive polyneuropathy is really rare and there is not many cases discovered.
