Hi i have been diagnosed with ptb in my right upper lung. I have taken the medicine myrin pforte for 2 months and have stopped. Was that very foolish?

Hi,

Yes.  It is very foolish.

Even though you may feel better and show no symptoms PTB is very difficult to cure.  It can take more than 6 months of antibiotics in some cases to effectively kill the bacteria.

Stopping the antibiotics can lead to the bacteria developing a resistance to it.  You MAY need another antibiotic now to treat the infection.

Don't mess with PTB.  The damage it does to your lungs, scarring, is permanent.  It will never go away.

See your doctor and tell them what you have done - NOW.
