I read the reply about it being folliculitis and I have to agree. I am a hockey player and something about the bacteria in the pads and the rubbing against the skin has made me prone to getting them on my arms. They never appeared before I played hockey (I started later in life). Then I put on some weight as I got older and I have one spot where I get them occasionally in the pubic hair region. They behave just like everyone else is describing.

Ask your doctor or dermatologist what to do. He or she may get you some cream but the main thing is cleanliness and skin care. You need to pamper your follicles, they can be damaged just like any other part of your body. And your skin is an organ! If you get them in an area that rubs, try to stop it from rubbing and get some powder to keep it dry. But main thing is don't freak out, go to your doctor and don't be embarassed.

it totally harmless!! i had 1 on my shoulder and it was horrible... massive and bloody and pretty disgusting. had it for about 2 months (i was 14) and then went to the hospital and got it removed. im now 18 and have a tiny scar on my shoulder (totali unnoticible) and it has never come back. not sure what the name of it was but the doctor said it was to do with my heavy school bag weighing my shoulder down and causing irritation. just get it removed! :-)

hi this might be a little too late. but what you have is an infected hair follicle. i had them all over the back of my left thigh. they kept coming and i didnt know how i got them or what they were. if i wore tight pants and jeans, the liquid from the sores would seep through and make the fabric stick to my leg. it was so painful taking clothing off.
i went to the doctor and they told me what it was, infected hair follicle, it sounds like nothing but is quite serious. it's almost impossible to get rid of it without antibiotics and they spread so quickly. in the morning id have a small itchy dot and then by the end of the day i'd have a wound the size of a quarter which was p***y and bloody. the doctor perscribed me an antibiotic cream and oral antibitotics. they cleared in a few days but the scars lasted months and i still have them, they are slowly fading. i still get them at times, theres not much i can do about it.

i used to get puss filled bumps and it was due to m r s a wich can be treated with certain medication or atleast mine was. advice go to the doc get your bumps lanced and get them to swab the puss. make sure to use clean towels and wear clean clothing, wash your hand alot spectro gel is really good make sure to get under your finger nails expecially after draining. for those who have m r s a advice seek a specialist there is a few different types of medication that you can take, cream, special soap. just depends on what medication it is resistant too. like i said myself and my youngest got it and after seing a specialist we wer given the propper medication and it went away been over 2 years since we have had a breakout. not every doc knows about m r s a or how to treat it so a specialist throught your local hospital might be able to do more or the center for desiese control.

Ladies and Gentlemen, no need to worry any longer, the cure is and has been right before you all along. No doubt, antibiotics do not work or any other prescribed medicine, to mention, when it comes to a skin abscess. What does work is the use of a hot pack purchased from your local drug store, usually located in the first aid lane or department. The simplest ones to use require only a couple of minutes in boiling water or microwave, once the pack is applied for about 15 minutes the abscess (puss) is softened and can be forced to drain with a little finger pressure over the boil. The boil, if it has'nt already, will usually bust and begin draining. All that is needed at this point is to apply a little triple antibiotic ointment to prevent new germs from re-entering the sore as the immune system aids it to heel.

Hi I have one of these bumps now, I think it may be an ingrown hair but could be a cluster of blisters under the skin from herpes I've heard although not confirmed, could also be MRSA which you can fix with manuka honey , look up manuka honey cure for MRSA, I think it helps with staff too, going to poke this with a new pin after I take a hot bath and see if it helps will write later

Sounds like a boil.  Your bodies way of getting rid of infection.  They swell, are hot, and hurt to sit on.  They drain once they come to a head.  You should actually let a doctor lance (cut) it open so it can drain properly and inquire about antibiotics.

I have this same exact problem it just started 3 years or so ago, large zit like things appeared on my ass. When I poped these alot of puss came out followed by blood. This also happened in my genital area an they would heal back up a few times after being drain an need to be drained again. I keep cleaning them with rubbing alcohol an they soon stopped, but now I have small red almost sore things but not really sores appearing on my body. Ranging from face to my feet they come an go like the other zit things. Here is were my problem realy lies is I have type one herpes since I was a young child. Back 4 years ago I gave it to my partner, and I still had sex with her when she was finishing a outbreak. I don't think I had actual contact with the sores so I never was worried. But I have read up on the symptoms of it an they don't add up and I get them on my lip so I know what it looks and feels like. I really would like some insight or help please I don't have money for medical attention. Another thing that has happened since these bumps appeared my wounds and cuts heal really slow and turn a light purple. Help me please!

I had 4 large pus and blood filled lumps between my legs in the most uncomfortable spot, on the side between the skin of the leg and my butt.  one small lump when I squoze it turned into 4 lumps because i felt it pop under the skin instead of popping out.  Once they filled up red, tender and large, as long as I could get started walking, it didn't hurt, stopped or tried to sit, and it was just horrible.  I applied heat packs I had found at the hardware store for hand warmers, perfect size, no fluid to leak, no gel, just open the package and the air warmed the pack.  I'd sit (delicately) on the hot pad and relief.  This day I couldn't stand it, the pain incredible, so I went to get Advil, ice.  I made an ice pack and gingerly sat on it on the large cyst pockets, took Advil and when the handwarmer got hot enough, swapped the ice pack for it.  ahh it felt so good.  no drainage at this point, just seeking some relief.  10 min roll by, the heat disappeared, I shift the pad, gingerly sat back on it, 4 min roll by, zero heat, so I stand up to retrieve the pad and it wasn't heating (dry ingredients make up the pad) because it had been soaked with the fluid of one of the 4 sacks.  The smell wasn't pleasant but wasn't nausiating, just obvious it was drainage from the sack.  I went to the bathroom, my junk pants and underwear was soaked where the sack had burst with a pus and blood mix.  blood was brownish, smell the same as the pad.  I trashed my clothing and any cloths I used to mop up the drainage.  It continues to drain, the sacks one by one are small and not painful, one last one continues to drain, so I wear an incontency pad to catch it all, trash clothing (lounge wear that, if i had to i can toss), when i use the bathroom, i change my pad, I clean the area with witch hazel compresses and keep the area as clean as possible.  No fever, no pain, just lots of drainage.  Not fresh blood, not bright red, just old blood which we women are familiar with it's color, usually on the 4th day out of 7, that rustic brownish color.  Maybe it was an ingrown hair, I'm 48 and in the beginning stages of menopause.  I've read it can be hormonal changes and can be frequently seen during mensus.  The only embarrassment is I keep thinking, if I had dallied I might have looked as if I was hemorraging all over the convenience store floor instead of the confines of my apt.  IF you are faced with such, incontency pads are a life saver.

Not to say it stopped but I rarely have them and when I do they are not noticeable. I hop you others take into mind this if nothing does works.
