23 years old just found out in May that I have severe Endometriosis, I have been trying to get pregnant ever since. The endo. is so bad that i have to go to the Dr. once a month to make sure that all is well with my organs. I am trying to hold out hope. I am seriously starting to get depressed, i want the chance to be a Mommy and i am hoping that i will be able to conceive and soon. If anyone has a similar story or an unplifting word please please let me know.

I am 25, when I was 13 I was put on birth control because I would get such brutal pain that I would miss school, and I was getting my period for 3 weeks at a time! I got married when I was 23 and came off the pill to try to get pregnant... thats when the pain returned and the heay long periods! after a year of tests, I finally did the research and told my doc I wanted surgery (laparoscopy) to see if it was Endometriosis. I was diagnosed through surgery on March 11th 2008. So after my surgery I was monitored by the doc every month to make sure I was producing eggs, and to see exactly when I was ovulating. I ended up coming off work on stress leave because I was depressed and had so many doctor appointments! I was put on a waiting list to have Intrauterine Insemination (11 month wait), I was starting to give up hope. Today I am 13 weeks pregnant!!! It was a total surprise, after over 2 years of trying, you really don't expect to see a positive sign! Since I have Endo, I am seeing my doc every 4 weeks for ultra sounds and urine tests. I don't mind my all the apointments anymore because its to make sure baby is ok. My pain went away immediately when I got pregnant, but it is starting to return. I have another doc appointment tomorrow so hopefully I can get some answers. BUT I am not worried, I made it this far, and I feel the best I have felt in over 2 years!
So don't give up hope, never quit trying, and try to stay positive, stress on the mind, is stress on the body! I know how hard it is, but its well worth it. Also, while you try to get pregnant, look into other proceedures that may help, like Intrauterine Insemination, its not even expensive! Good luck ladies! My thoughts and prayers are with you!

I was diagnosed with Endometriosis when I was 19, but have experienced brutal periods since I was 12. In 2006 my gyno (Dr Katie Taylor) operated to drain the cysts I had and just check on everything. Due to my age, she wanted to leave me with as much of my "baby-making stuff" (my term, not hers) as possible. I was always told that until I was prepared to have babies, that she wouldn't know if I were capable of having them at that stage. She said the longer I leave it, the more damage that is done. So here I am now, 26 years old. I miscarried at approx the 4 week mark back in February, which I was always prepared for, but it totally devastated my partner. He never fully understood the risks. But, here we are again, Just found out that I'm at the 7 week mark which is an improvement on last time. Still a bit worried though, but just taking it as it comes, and doing everything possible to promote happy and stress-free thoughts.

So now I have stopped taking my antidepressants for now, and the painkillers (for the migraines and abdo pain) and trying to do what it takes to make a healthy baby, but the migraines are worse, and my feet are already swelling. I've also been sick as a dog with a nasty flu for the past 3 weeks, and have had a bad case of gastroenteritis for the past week aswell. But hey, gotta keep positive.

Good luck ladies. I understand the pain you all endure.

You should keep the baby!!! It's not your babies fault your boyfriend doesn't want the baby! Wow, that's terrible! I was told I would never have children because I have endo. But I am now 4 weeks pregnant! And soooo blessed! Thank you Jesus!!

Seriously Don't terminate your baby! Regardless of what the pro-abortionists say..The fact is the minute the sperm meets the egg a life has been created. God sees that life in you! And he loves you and that little one!! Be strong he will take care of you and your baby!

I am 30. I have two beautiful girls and am currently 33 weeks pregnant with my first boy. I have had endometriosis since I was 13. Just before I got pregnant last year, I was told I needed to go on Depo Lupron to control my symptoms. I had recently endured an EGD and colonoscopy and several injections due to the abdominal pain I had been having. With each of my first two pregnancies, the symptoms improved, but then increased following the births. This time, I have had continued pain through the pregnancy and am worried about adhesions, maybe even bowel. My current doctor doesn't seem to take this very seriously, and he has never even suggested a laparoscopy. The fact of the matter, though, is that it IS possible to conceive and have healthy pregnancies, even with severe issues with pain, etc. Keep your hopes up!!

Hi, I am 28, and was diagnosed with endo two and a half month ago - I had laparoscopy done. Doctor laser it out and said, that I shold be able to concieve. It was 9 month we was trying for baby before surgery without sucess. But after laparoscopy was done, I concieve in three weeks. Three days after we found out pregnancy i start to bleed... and lost a baby. I was 5 weeks that time. I was wery wery upset. Doctor told us we can try again, and I concieve stright away again. Now I am 5 weeks, and hoping for best. Yesterday I had a lot of pain, cramps, now I have cold aswell, so stayed home. It is known that pregnancy can cure endo, but pain is still there...
I always thought it will be no problem for me to have kids: my mom have 4, my sister have little girl, noone in family seems to have had much trouble with having kids. All I want is to have my baby, an we will keep trying whathewer it takes...

I found out I had it at age 13 and at age 15 I had to get a olverian cyst removed. I am very different though, which makes me wonder. At the age of 16 I was told I was fertile like a 25 yr old. I am 26 yrs old now and have a almost 5 yr old son now. I never got told that I would never have a child. I never had any problems during my pregnancy, but I do have pain during my period and it can be very heavy and change every month. I still get all my check ups when I should. So either mine wasnt as bad or some how it went away. Please keep thinking positive because sometimes that really helps you, and if you worry to much that stress can hurt the baby too.

I was told that I have Endometriosis in my early twenties.  I'm now 30 and just found out that I'm pregnant for the first time!  I have started cramping and bleeding and I'm terrified.  I went to my doctor and they  ran another pregnancy test and the line was very faint (I might be still too early or getting ready to have a miscarriage).  I'm still waiting for my referral to an Obgyn and my family doctor has told to just wait for my blood test results.  I'm wondering if cramping and bleeding are normal signs during the early stages of pregnancy when you have Endometriosis.

Thank you so much for you help.

I have had this condition for 5 years since my first miscarriage/DNC. Had multiple treatment here. Weren't working. With no hope asked for medical files. On reading them saw 'Asherman Syndrome' for first time. Look on google found 1 of 3 specialist in Europe in Hammersmith Hospital England Dr. Geoffrey Threw. The quality of treatment and clarity of explaination I had not experienced once with the Irish sysytem. i had similiar procedure but more skilled done with him in July. I went back for feedback 3/4 weeks later and all adhesion gone and hadn't reformed. So anyone looking for treatment after pregnancy I would strongly recommend this man. Your insurance company will cover 3/4 of cost if you seek pre approval to go abroad.
