So I noticed some rectal bleeding that started roughly 5 or 6 weeks ago. It was only during bowel movements and only showed on the toilet paper and sometimes on the surface of the stool - never drops into bowl of toilet. I also had what I thought was maybe some discharge that had an awful smell.

I went to the doctor about a week and a half ago. She did a finger exam as well as a scope. She said she didn't notice any tearing or any sort of internal hemorrhoid that she could tell - although she did say sometimes the scope can push those up against the wall. She gave me suppositories with an anti inflammatory and a steroid to help heal anything if there were tears and wanted to know my results after two weeks. After being 3/4 of the way through treatment, I can say that the blood on the toilet paper during bowel movements has remained the same - some days it's very noticeable, some days just slight drops.

I've also started having some very small bowel movements, like large pellets some days.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had any similar experiences or any ideas of what else it might be.

Being a gay man, anal health is important to me and I want this situation resolved as soon as possible. The only other thing I can really think of is if there were some sort of internal genital warts or STD that need some other type of treatment, but I assume the doctor would have been able to see and/or feel these if they were present.

Any suggestions or ideas?!?!
