Does anyone know what causes red blotches on your chest if you experience a strong emotion expecially when your nervous or excited? I've been getting them since puberty and I've been more conscious of them lately. Whenever I think about them I get them expecially in school and I've also noticed I get them when I'm tired or just after I eat. But maybe it's just me thinking ill get them if I'm tired or eat because I never got them before until I started thinking I would get them in those situations. I really want to know what causes it because I get them all the time and it's very embarrassing and it affects me every single day. I can't stand it and get very upset some days to the point of not wanting to go out with friends because of how depressed I feel. I know a lot of people have said there is nothing I can do it's just my skin but if anyone can tell me the cause I could try and prevent it. It's very noticeable and it makes me feel so small and all I want to do is hide. I basically get them all the time and it sucks because I'm really into theatre and singing, which is obviously a little nerve racking. I just really need a cure or something to help me. I don't want to hide my chest all the time nor do I want to feel uncomfortable EVERY SINGLE time a tiny bit of my chest is exposed. It's honestly horrible and I hate it please help me.

Hello, tay.

Have you tried going to dermatologist? Just to find out if it's dermatitis or eczema, because that's two the most common causes of red blotches on skin. Dermatologist can help you to determine cause of your problem. Maybe it's reaction on soap you're using or some kind of allergy.

But, concluding from your post, maybe you suffer from anxiety. A good friend of mine had same problem few years ago. She also experienced red skin rash as result of anxiety. She was advised to reduce stress to a minimum and got prescribed anti-histamines.

Either way, the best solution for you is to seek professional opinion.
