red bumps on my genitals, I am active, but I always have protected intercourse, could it be STD?

hi iam sexually active gay, but i always played safe sex, recently i have seen some red patched on my pennis - dont know what it's really scared dont know what to do ..but iam sure it's not the Aids or HIV. please reply
