I am 24 yrs old and Jan. 6 of this year I had benign stromal tumor removed. It began on my right ovary and got so big to where it twisted and popped from my right ovary causing a sharp pain. I was told that it was the size (and just about in the shape of) of a football. He had to remove my right ovary and fallopian tube, my left looked normal. Two weeks after surgery I was back at work and finishing up my last semester of college. I don't have any children at the moment, and after this I was really worried that I would not be able to carry a child full term. I know everyone's body is different, but reading these posts really gives me HOPE. My only problem is since the surgery my cycle has been irregular. At first it would start during the end of the month, such as the 28th. Then moved up to the 22nd, now it's up the the 16th. I haven' been able to make my check up because it somehow starts every time I make an appointment. But is this something I should be worried about?

I had my left ovary and tube removed in December 2009. I found out in February 2010 that I was pregnant. Unfortunately, I was said to have a tubal pregnancy, and the doctor gave me a shot to abort the pregnancy. After a week, nothing happened, and I went back to the doctor. Before performing an ultrasound, they gave me another injection. The following day, I had an ultrasound saying that I was still pregnant and my baby had a heartbeat. The doctor then looked at me & said that I had a 50/50 chance of survival. Not telling me that if my child survived, the shots would cause it to have severe birth defects. I was actually pregnant with twins. One was in my uterus, the other was in my tube, which showed in my uterus after the second shot. The conception date was different for the two of them, which explains why it wasn't showing yet in my uterus. Long story short, neither of them survived. I went through a terrible bout with depression for months. Finally, in June, I found out I was pregnant again with my son. We had 2 daughters already, but we finally got our first son. We are trying again, and it seems to not be happening for us. Maybe patience is key, but sometimes we get discouraged.
On another side of this, ever since I had this surgery, I still have terrible pain on my left side, where my ovary & tube used to be. ALthough it is not present I still have the same pain that I had before the surgery. I have to get another ultrasound done to see what the problem is. I still cramp severely when I have my cycle, and am unable to function for the first few days of it. I'm beginning to think that they surgery was waste of time and money. If I am still going to have the pain, I should have just kept tube and ovary.

Yes she will still be able to have children. I had my left ovary and Fallopian tube removed when I was 16 years old. It took my husband and almost 5 years to have our first son. Then I went on birth control. I stopped the birth control in April and got pregnant in September.

I just had my right ovary and Fallopian tube removed. The incision is below the hair line and a clean cut. No stitches or stables they did a suture. Had a cathedar the first night and hated it but other than that was a perfect surgery.
