Hello. I'm 27 year old male and I have developed some skin problem. I don’t know anything about it or about the possible causes but this scrotal itch is killing me.
I have started to suffer from it about a month ago and it get worse in the night while I'm sleeping. Sometimes the itching is so intense I could rip the skin of. I'm afraid what could be the cause. I'm sexually active but I have never had any sexually transmitted disease and even now- I can't see any visible skin changes or any other symptoms.
Please tell me what could be the cause of all this!

I'm very sorry that you’ve developed this scrotal itch because I can only imagine how unpleasant this could be. I have read some articles about possible causes and you don’t have to be afraid because it isn’t anything serious. It could hardly be a sign of some STD because you would have some other symptoms along with visible skin changes.
Scrotal itching is a common symptom of a fungal infection or contact dermatitis. This are of your body is very sensitive to heat and warm conditions because it is perfect environment for fungal grow.
So, should avoid wearing tight and non-cotton underwear. It could be also some mild inflammation especially if you shave this area. If the problem continues to bother you- contact your dermatologist.

To those suffering from scrotal itching. I have gotten temporary relief by soaking the affected area with a mild solution of apple cider vinegar and water. About 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar to the pint of water. Do it in the tub or shower and rinse afterward with clear water. The itching could be caused by yeast infection. A good dermatologist can recommend a lotion to apply topically, but you also should buy a good quality probiotic and take it as directed. It will replace the yeast infestation in your intestinal tract with good bacteria. If you take antibiotics they wipe out the good intestinal flora and it is necessary to replace the good bacteria in the gut or the yeast will take over and give you problems, like scrotal or vaginal itching.

I'm a 69 yr old and am presently suffering from 'scrotal itch' which I haven't experienced since contracting it (I presumed as a student way back) after using a communal student lavatory where (I presume) I picked up Ring Worm. Very Scratchy! Otherwise, as a young man (not at all promiscuous) I suffered STD mites which were cleared up pronto with a Doc's prescription. My present 'scratchy scrotal condition' I guage (being as I'm a single oldie and totally non-sexually involved) must have been picked up from a school toilet of which school (a top Ofsted one) I am a, returning, retired assistant teacher. Strange - how you can catch what other teachers have been getting up to by sitting on a shared toilet seat? Anyway, being fairly thoughtful and forgiving I initially (before going to work after a prior night's itching) douche my 'undercarriage' with common or garden Antiseptic Disinfectant. It works for a while in the morning in school. But in the afternoon (in school) the itching returns despite further Antiseptic Disinfecting from the bottle I have made a point of bringing to work. Methinks, of more potent home remedies against scrotal mites once I'm returned to my end of work abode. I look upon my bathroom shelf and espy Aftershave full of alcohol (alcohol) being a poison to all. I tip the itchy-mite unguent upon a folded paper towel and re-douche, dab, pat my pubes and scrotal area with Aftershave. I repeat same some hour or two hence as I will do before going a bed. Even before bed the itching is subdued and is subsided substantially. We will monitor one's scrotal irritation and if necessary douche more Aftershave upon one's pupes as one would upon one's facial beard.

'Scrotal Itch' continues to be 'an irritating thought process'. While my undercarriage itching is much reduced with liberal dabs and douches of aftershave - I still experience the odd testicular tickling which makes me to suppose my balls is/are the plaything of uncertain stubborn microbe players within my underpants. I look upon my bathroom shelf once more and espy a 'bug-blaster' I had forgotten I had tucked as it was behind all sorts of male body and facial silliness - being a roll-on Mosquito and Insect Repellent frequently availed to holiday makers about to travel to the Tropics or other midge-ridden resorts. Methinks, with 'scrotal itching' one is up against a wily foe who needs to confused with varied 'blasting agents'. After reading particular blurb on this site I see I could be suffering my itch via some fungal condition. Therefore, simple Talcum Powder might be the palliative. Clearly, a tickle on one's scrota (whether one or the other or both) requires considered consideration.
