Over the weekend, I've had this burning sensation which I'm assuming is in my esophagus since swallowing is just down right painful. I don't have health insurance so before I started making the wrong kind of doctor appt's I wanted to do a little research. I actually feel better now that I see that I'm not alone. The posts that I'm seeing are referencing hernia's, allergies and stress. At least that's a starting point because my first thoughts were cancer or that I really had "something" stuck in my esophagus. Two things that I have found to help a little bit are slowly dring cold water/beverages and when laying down, the feeling definately subsides when laying on my side.

I have had the same symptoms in the past and a doctor told me to lift the head of my bed an inch or so and it worked .recently we got a new bed and I forgot to lift the head of the bed and the symptoms returned .lifted it last night and already feeling a little better.hopefully recovered tomorrow. So that is how I treated my STUPID acid reflux,I know it sounds silly but why not take a chance .IT HELPS!!Hopefully it works for you.

Hi Michele, sorry to bother you so long after your post. I have been suffering with the same problem. Wake up fine and as day goes on have feeling of something stuck in my lower oesophagus. It's a bit uncomfortable and tends to cause pain in my middle back too. Some days I don't have it at all, and other days it's all day and very annoying. I went for a camera test down into my tummy last week, they could preform as I didn't tolerate it and Inrefused sedation. I am going back net week for sedation and the test. I am so worried I can't sleep. Can I asked what yours turned out to be please, as it sounds so similar to me?
