Hi! You misspelled it or mixed it with hematoma. Hematoma is bleeding that occurs from large blood vessels and seroma from small vessels. Seromas form under the skin usually in the abdominal area, or in the chin or neck. It feels like lumps have formed under the skin. I think that they may go away on their own in three-month time but could also be drained shortly after the surgery. In order to avoid formation of both hematomas and seromas, it is essential that a patient stops smoking, is not exposed to second-hand smoke and not take any aspirin-related drugs. A patient undergoing surgery should also avoid alcohol and blood-thinning drugs.
