Sounds like Proctalgia Fugax to me; it's just your internal muscles cramping or spasming; happens after sex sometimes and is actually pretty common, as you can see with people's responses here.

I used to have this problem when I was in my late 20's and early 30's when I was very sexually active. Severe pain in lower ab and rectum. What I did was put my finger inside my vagina and push towards the stomach to move my uterus (which feels like a finger) from pushing against my rectum. Sometimes I would just move my finger all the way around and move it slowly. It did hurt while moving it but it did stop hurting once i was done. Later found out that i have a tipped uterus and during sex if it is dropped down into the vagina low enough the thrusting will hit the uterus and move it into a very uncomfortable position. Good luck everyone!

So useful! I'm having this same issue and naturally I think GAS because of the pressure I'm feeling. I read this and ding, hits the hammer right on the nail... it's a shame as much money as these doctors make they can't tell these poor ladies this. Instead they send them through the ringer with test after test trying to figure this out just to send you home with a huge bill, a maybe on the diagnosis and a prescription for treating something you don't even have!!!! When come to find out all you had to do was pass gas!!! Thanks for the post, you saved me the headache and doctor bills!

I have had the exact same problem as you have described, basically word for word of what you said. I have been to numerous gynecologist with very little answers. The only thing they are leading me to is endometriosis. Have you found the answer for the cause of your pain?
